Best Boutique Decor Shops Found In Minnesota Malls

Shopping for boutique home decor requires patience and perseverance. Most of us think of the mega-mall when browsing for a mall boutique, but smaller malls also carry some of the best and very authentic boutique items. Here are a few decor mall discoveries.

American Gothic Antiques
American Gothic Antique Mall Shop
236 South Main St.
Stillwater, MN 55082
Phone: (651) 439-7709

American Gothic looks at the past and glimpses towards today. This two-story antique mall in tranquil Stillwater has no listed website and no cell phone. But inside the mall, cell phones ring as buyers tell friends and family about old treasures stocked in vintage store rooms. Age is highly valued and, for time-honored collectors, the older the better. Here, time can stand still like the old cuckoo clock. Wasn't this clock in your great grandmother's home? But if you want decor that's not quite ancient, American Gothic also has more contemporary collections. The oldest dates back to when rock was young.

Annabella's Antique Mall & Cafe
407 2nd St.
Bovey, MN 55709
218-245-2055
www.annabellasantiques.com

One of the largest malls in Northern Minnesota, Annabella's Antique Mall & Cafe has a fun atmosphere and a cozy ambiance. Its vintage and antique home decor is certifiably authentic: glassware, stoneware, period furniture, primitives, ceramics, jewelry, art, clothing and wall decorations. The mall also carries period tools in good condition. Maybe they'll be useful on the next home improvement project. Want to know more about the Prohibition Era when the thirsty, trying to avoid prohibition agent Eliot Ness, consumed libations with gusto in the speakeasy? Speakeasies often had escape passages for patrons in case Ness and his Untouchables raided their drinking haven. Form your own speakeasy group and hang out or party in the mall's Speakeasy Room. The adjacent café serves freshly made, moderately priced Scandinavian-influenced comfort food and will cater your Speakeasy event.

Midtown Antiques
Midtown Antique Mall
301 Main St. S.
Stillwater, MN 55082
(651) 430-0808

Consider furnishing your home with architectural antiques and period furniture from the Midtown Antique Mall furniture gallery. Set the kitchen or dining table with a classic selection of vintage glassware, sterling flatware and dinnerware. If you think antique sofas and chairs are meant to be admired, not for sitting and reclining, relax. Furniture made in the "old days" is very sturdy because the wood grain is solid — back then, everything was built to last. The genuine wood dining room set is something to dine for.
