Best Easter Events For Kids In Minnesota

After an extra long and bitterly cold winter, Minnesota's kids could use a reason to run around in the outdoors. One very good reason – Easter! Check out some of these April celebrations for the entire family to enjoy all around our wonderful state of Minnesota.

Celebrate Easter with the Easter Bunny himself at the 8th annual Bunny Bash in Duluth. Not only can kids snap pics with the bunny, but they can also take part in fun games, face painting, caricatures and an egg hunt. Admission to this event is free but there is a small cost for activities and the snack bar. All proceeds benefit Honor Flight for Veterans.

Burn off your intake of Easter chocolates at the 5K Bunny Run in Mankato. Afterwards, kids can partake in the Easter Egg Scramble to fill their baskets. You must register prior to race day to participate. Sign-ups before April 13 are $20 online. Between April 14-18, registration is $25 at SCHEELS in the River Hills Mall.

Staggered egg hunt times at Silverwood Park's Easter celebration make it easier for the little ones to find eggs while the bigger kids wait for their turn to seek out the delicious goodies. Other fun activities include live music, spring art projects and photos with the Easter Bunny. Children under 10 are welcome to participate, and reservations should be made by phone in advance. The fee is $5, but discounts can be made for groups of four or more.

Track down some delicious Easter goodies at the 31st Annual Easter Egg Candy Hunt in Chanhassen. In addition to treats, the morning activities will include a coloring contest, an appearance from the Easter Bunny and lots of prizes. Children ages 12 and under can participate in the hunt and coloring contest. This event will take place rain or shine.

Tons of fun spring activities surround the Mystery Egg Hunt in Oakdale. For just $11, kids can enjoy the petting zoo, bouncy castle, face painting, treats, crafts, games and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny will also hide eggs, including 'mystery' eggs, along the trails of the Oakdale Nature Preserve. The egg hunt starts at 9:15 a.m. sharp and don't forget to register by April 11 for this very popular event.
