What makes the State Fair fried cheese curds so great is that you can only get them during certain times of the year. Each curd is carefully fried in a delicious batter and served by the thousands during the end of the summer. The curd itself is carefully selected from local dairy farms and processed into a fried delicacy by other locals. The State Fair is often said to be the best time of the year in Minnesota. It certainly brings in cheese curd season and leaves everyone in anticipation of the next year's fair.

A newer spot on 42nd Ave, Pub 42 has made its mark as a great place to hang out and get a solid bite. While they have many specialties, including deviled eggs, their cheese curds are talked about all over town. This neighborhood joint uses Alaskan Amber Ale in their cheese curd batter and serves them with honey mustard dipping sauce. This strange combination is strangely delicious. They also use a local creamery to source the cheese part of the curd. Stop by and try and eat just one.
