Halloween has long been a favorite holiday for Minnesotans. While the weather gets cooler, Halloween brings an air of festivity to the impending winter. Kids and adults enjoy dressing up to go trick-or-treating or to a neighborhood gathering. With all of the activities in Minnesota that celebrate Halloween, it's hard to know what events to put on the calendar. Find yourself at some of these Halloween-themed shows and events for an enjoyable and entertaining evening.

A tradition that started over 10 years ago, Le Cirque Rogue at the Amsterdam Bar is an original and fantastic cabaret and burlesque show that takes place every Halloween. This year, the line-up includes underground bands Iguano, Kiss or Kill and The Splendid End. Aside from the musical entertainment, comedians, dancers and other entertainers will be performing throughout the evening. Get into the fun and festivities while you interact with monster bands, zombies and other creatures. A tarot card reader will also be there to reveal your fortune.

Purchase your ticket online or at venues throughout the Twin Cities for this annual event of fun and entertainment. The Zombie Pub Crawl invites locals to dress up like the undead and enjoy some great entertainment around the city. Bands are scheduled to play throughout the cities for the Pub Crawl and this year's line-up includes Steve Aoki, Juicy J and Flavor Flav, among many others. Each year the record for largest gathering of zombies is attempted and your help may be needed for this to happen in 2014.

Bare Bones is a not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to bringing the performing arts to local communities. By creating shows and performances with the help of the community, Bare Bones has created a love for the arts among Minnesotans. Each year, they create and perform an outdoor puppet show in a local park that involves fantastic homemade costumes, music, lights and giant puppets. Audience participation is encouraged and has become a fun part of the event. Check out the outdoor puppet extravaganza this year, a much-loved event in Minnesota.

The Depot in Duluth is an historical building that was once an important transportation hub of northern Minnesota. Converted into a museum, performing arts center and historical society, the Depot hosts a fun event every year around Halloween. This event is open to families and is kid-friendly. All Souls Night celebrates the Mexican Day of the Dead and brings the community together to honor and remember loved ones who have passed on. Entertainment includes music, poetry, fire dancing and costume competitions. Children can remember their own ancestors and learn about other important issues in the community as well. Enjoy bilingual performances and have fun at this event.

A fun puppet show designed for younger children and daycare groups, the Halloween Hijinks Puppet Show is a great way to celebrate the holiday without risking a scary scene. Recommended for ages 2-5 and shown during the day, this performance features cute animal puppets enjoying the season and playing Halloween pranks on one another. After the show, the Nature Center is open for exploration, crafts and enjoying the outdoors. Children will enjoy the holiday decorations and festivities at the Maplewood Nature Center.
