Best Monday Night Specials In Minnesota

Mondays. Everybody dreads them. Monday is often viewed as the death of the weekend, the start of the drudgery. Most theaters and museums are dark and many restaurants are closed. But it doesn't have to be this way. Some people like to stay away from the crowds of weekend dinner, or those of us who treat Monday like any other night (and why shouldn't it be?). There are plenty of reasons you should go out on a Monday night, and these local bars and restaurants are here to celebrate that.

This little gem hidden away near the (soon to be completed) Saints Stadium in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood has become a staple of the area. Not only can you find interesting music acts and events any night of the week, but Monday night lets you enjoy a whole pizza and a bottle of wine (or four beers) for the Andrew Jackson in your pocket. That's $20. I don't know if that is as recognizable as a Benjamin, but the point is, it's extremely reasonable. Enjoy some music, or whatever other event might be going on, and chill out with a delicious thin crust and a few drinks.

Al Vento
5001 S. 34th Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55417

Romance is alive and well at this Italian restaurant in South Minneapolis. Italian classics are served beautifully and the ambiance and service make for a memorable meal every time. It's a restaurant like that that will turn a drab Monday night into date night, as al Vento offers selections from their wine list at half price. You'll be able to enjoy some really nice wines without overspending. Who says it has to be Saturday night for you and your loved one to dine and drink and woo?

There are a good amount of "Burger Monday" deals around town, but Moe's selection of burgers, from the Denny with its fried egg on top to the Father Kevin Moore burger covered in corned beef and onion rings, puts it on this list. For only $5 you can enjoy any one of these burgers, and the massive tap list is sure to have something to wash it down. Come during evening happy hour and that beer is discounted as well. It's a fun place to enjoy that first day of the week. You can forget about everyone else being responsible and staying in.

If you're not looking to sit down and eat, the Dubliner is the place to have a little fun. Monday is just an extension of the weekend at this awesome little pub on University Ave in St. Paul. Monday nights get you $5 Boilermakers all night, and free darts and ping pong. Your skills will surely only improve after one or two of those boilermakers. It doesn't have to be Monday here; it's really just another night to get out with friends and have some fun.

Monday night is "Cheap Date Night" and it lives up to its name. For $28 you'll get two entrees, a bottle of wine (or a few beers), and a round of bowling for you and that special someone at your side. They don't even really have to be that special to appreciate this Monday night deal. Nobody is worried about what day of the week it is here, it's just a place to eat surprisingly good food while bowling and drinking.
