Best Ways To Celebrate National Star Wars Day In Minnesota

What are you planning for National Star Wars Day on Wednesday May 4, 2016? Some fans organize viewing parties, movie marathons, Star Wars-themed trivia nights or even costumed appearances at area venues. Here are five events where you can join the force.

Luke and Leia are twin South American Emperor Tamarins born on Jan. 27, 2016. Shortly after their birth, park officials announced they would accept suggestion for their names. These adorable little mustached monkeys are the cutest Luke and Leia couple you could meet. They are growing fast, and you can watch their progress by searching the Como Park Facebook page.

The force unites every Wednesday for open Star Wars gaming for visitors, but this day is special. The Fantasy Flight Games Center in Roseville will be conducting free demos of their Star Wars Games including Star Wars: X-Wing, Star Wars: Armada, Star Wars: The Card Game, Star Wars: Imperial Assault and Star Wars: Rebellion. The Fantasy Flight Games Center will also host a Star Wars: X-Wing Tournament Starting at 6:30 p.m. The Center seats 150 gamers comfortably and provides a full menu Café, with serving hot and tasty meals plus refreshing sodas, cold beer, chilled wine or hot coffee.

Jedi and Sith, do not stow your costumes because the Saints are shooting for the moon on Star Wars night. A ticket for $20 gets you an outfield reserved seat, a light saber and light saber training prior to the game. Imagine Saints' two-legged mascot, Mudonna, dressed up as Princess Leia and hamming it up with Star Wars characters throughout the game. Get some practice before you arrive because you may be chosen to demonstrate your prowess in a Wookie calling contest. Help the Saints celebrate the season as they take on the Gary Southshore Railcats.
