There are over 1,000 waterparks across the Unites States and, not surprisingly, Wisconsin Dells has rightfully earned the moniker Waterpark Capital of the World. But you’ll also find a few other worthy options throughout the state. Here are some of the best Wisconsin waterparks…in no particular order.

African-themed Kalahari was designed with the “vacation under one roof” objective in mind and the idea has been proven successful. As the largest indoor waterpark in Wisconsin, guests can choose from a number of water rides such as FlowRider surfing or Master Blaster uphill water rollercoaster. Dry activities include a six-story Ferris wheel, go-cart track, laser tag, bowling, ropes course, climbing walls, indoor playground, 15-screen cinema, 27-hole Trappers Turn golf course and full-service Spa Kalahari and Salon. Kalahari’s Zambezi Outdoor Waterpark opens for the summer months. Lodging options include basis guest rooms and suites.


Mt. Olympus

Staying at any of the seven Mt. Olympus lodging options has a major perk, guest have free access to all of the Mt. Olympus wet and dry activities including the two waterparks and two theme parks. The 156 acres is divided into four lands: Medusa’s Indoor Water Park, Neptune’s Outdoor Water Kingdom, Zeus’ Playground, and The Parthenon, Wisconsin Dell’s first indoor theme park.


Wilderness Territory

Northwoods-inspired Wilderness Territory is one of America’s largest waterpark resorts spanning across 600 acres which includes 500,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor water-play (reserved for resort guests). In addition, the resort offers dry play parks, miniature golf, the Wild Rock Golf Course, Woods Family Golf Course and the Canyon Zip Line. Guests have an array of lodging choices, from traditional hotel rooms to five bedroom cabins.


Great Wolf Lodge

The rustic ambiance of Great Wolf Lodge makes for a comfortable setting while room options range from traditional hotel rooms to three-room condos. For entertainment, there’s something for all ages. Tots can enjoy kiddie waterslides while thrill-seekers look forward to riding the Howlin’ Tornado water ride. Guests who choose this resort appreciate that the three adjoining indoor waterparks and one outdoor waterpark are reserved for overnight guests.


Chula Vista Resort

Chula Vista sits on a pretty property situated alongside the Wisconsin River. The 80,000 square-foot multi-level waterpark Lost Rios boasts the country’s fastest indoor water coaster, the Flyan Myan. The resort’s newest extreme waterslide is the Cyclone which extends 268 feet long and 48 feet high – the tallest in North America. Guests can select from rooms, suites, condominiums and themed suites including Outer Space, Pirates of the Caribbean, Southern Plantation and African Safari and Wild West.


Polynesian Resort Hotel

The Polynesian Waterpark Resort receives kudos for being the flagship indoor waterpark resort. Today, the Polynesian Waterpark offers a smaller waterpark setting than some of the newer counterparts, making this resort a good option for families with children 10 and under – kids even stay free at the resort.


Atlantis Waterpark Hotel and Suites

We know that not everyone thinks bigger and better and if that’s the case for you, the Atlantis Waterpark’s mellow scene is a nice choice, especially for families with a younger under crowd – though, there are two 40-foot long tunnel slides. Atlantis guests do receive a bonus, a free waterpark pass to Chula Vista. Opt for traditional guest rooms or suites. Don’t miss the all you can eat waffle breakfast bar.


Metropolis Resort

Timber Ridge Lodge at Grand Geneva Resort
