THE DEFENSE

Q: Marisa, what drew you to this car?

A: It has really good gas mileage and it's roomier than my last car.

Q: Where do you drive to the most?

A: Mainly to and from school and I don't live close to campus, so I drive a lot everyday. When I go home to visit my family, that's about one and a half hours away. In my old car, it would take a half tank of gas to get there. In this car, it takes less than a quarter tank.

Q: Do you like driving on those long trips?

A: I do. I like turning up the music and singing. It's peaceful.

Q: Have you made any longer trips?

A: I've taken this car down to Chicago. It's a good car to travel in. It's really quiet. I wish it had a moon roof, but otherwise it does its job.

Q: Do you have any favorite road trip snacks?

A: CornNuts. I like the regular and the chile picante ones.

Q: What are your favorite tunes to listen to while driving?

A: One of my favorites is Iron and Wine, but it just depends on the mood.

Q: Do you sing really loud?

A: I do. That's why I turn up the music, so I can't hear my own voice!

Q: Do you keep a messy or a neat car?

A: Neat. Most of the people I've had in my car have been really respectful, but "no puking," that's my only rule! If you have to puke, open up the door.

Q: That's a very reasonable request. Do you have a nickname for your car?

A: I call my car The Terminator because it's a beast.
