Beasley, Love Have Contracts Extended, Not Brewer

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have exercised contract options for next season on forwards Michael Beasley and Kevin Love, guards Jonny Flynn and Wayne Ellington, and center Kosta Koufos.

The moves were made Monday. The Wolves also let the deadline pass for offering forward Corey Brewer a contract extension beyond this season, meaning he'll become a restricted free agent next summer.

Beasley, Love and Koufos will be fourth-year players in 2011-12, while Flynn and Ellington will be in their third year.

Brewer is in a crowd at the wing position, and the Wolves want to wait to see how this season develops before making more commitments. Brewer is the longest-tenured player on the team. He was selected in the first round of the 2007 draft.
