ST. PAUL (AP) — The advisers that will lead Democrat Mark Dayton’s transition to a possible governor’s administration are familiar names in the party.
Dayton’s campaign announced his transition team Monday.
The co-chairs are Tina Smith and Lee Sheehy. Smith has been chief of staff to Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and worked on various campaigns, including Dayton’s. Sheehy has had top jobs under Sen. Amy Klobuchar and former Attorney General Skip Humphrey.
Old campaign hands are also sticking around. Campaign manager Dana Anderson assumes the role of transition chief of staff and Katharine Tinucci will be Dayton’s main spokesman.
Dayton has a separate team watching over a likely recount in the unsettled race. He leads Republican Tom Emmer by about 8,750 votes.
