HANCOCK, Minn. (WCCO) — The remains of a man who has been missing since 2004 were found over the weekend by a group of hunters.
Around 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, hunters out for the deer hunting opener found the human remains in a densely wooded area about 2 1/2 miles west of Hancock, Minn. in Stevens County.
The Stevens County Sheriff’s Office along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension responded to the scene and recovered the remains. They were sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner where they were identified as 46-year-old Jack Leroy Eisel.
Stevens County officials said Eisel was reported missing from a group home in Hancock, Minn. on Nov. 26, 2004. They say Eisel was last seen walking away from the home at about 4 p.m. that day.
