Police Investigate Dozens Of Slashed Tires

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are investigating after a number of people in a southwest Minneapolis neighborhood woke up to several slashed tires.

Dozens of tires on vehicles around 29th and Xerxes were slashed sometime overnight. Some cars had all four tires slashed and were forced to have their vehicles towed in order to get a new set.

Ben Straub was changing two of his tires that were targeted on Tuesday afternoon.

"We got up this morning and heard tow trucks. We saw them coming and coming and we had no idea what was going on. We thought maybe one of the buildings had something going on or who knows," he said. "And finally we came out and saw all the tires."

Straub said he decided to change the tires himself to save on towing costs.

Minneapolis Police are trying to find out who did the damage.
