AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) – The candidate that lost the mayor’s race in Austin will pay for a partial recount.
Marian Clennon lost by 1,699 votes to incumbent Mayor Tom Stiehm on Nov. 2.
Clennon has asked that initially only three key precincts be counted by hand. She says she chose the precincts after looking at voter data from past elections.
Clennon tells the Austin Daily Herald that she “wants to make sure the ballots are counted the way the people intended them to be counted.”
