1 Killed In Crash With Semi Near Le Sueur, Minn.

LE SUEUR, Minn. (WCCO) –A man is dead after a crash involving a semi-truck Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The state patrol says 22-year-old Benjamin Dirckx of Marshall, Minn. was heading south in a Ford Explorer on Highway 169 just south of Le Sueur when he lost control of the vehicle.

It happened just before 7 a.m. The roads were icy.

The SUV crossed the median and was broad-sided by a semi-truck, killing Dirkx, according to the state patrol.

Le Sueur is southwest of the Twin Cities and about 25 miles north of Mankato.

Earlier this article had the name of the man incorrect (thankfully WCCO has since corrected the problem), but it seems that WCCO and the Marshall Independent do not agree on the direction Dirckx was traveling. The Marshall Independent says Dirckx was Northbound, not driving South. I am sad to say this leads me to question the credibility of WCCO.
