Man Sentenced For Imprisoning Woman

A Minnesota man will spend a year in prison after pleading guilty to a false imprisonment charge.

Gerald Michael Feran II, was sentenced Wednesday. He will also have to supply a DNA sample, be banned from possessing a firearm or ammunition and has to register as a predatory offender.

Feran, Jonathon Stuart Listrom and Jonathon Delano Swenson were all charged with one count each of false imprisonment, a felony in August.

According to police, a woman was bound with duct tape in a house on the 2700 block of June Avenue in Golden Valley and was threatened with gang rape. Police said when the men were in another part of the house, the woman was able to free herself, run away and alert police using the help of people living nearby.

One of the men was arrested by Golden Valley Police after officers chased him on foot. Two other men took off in a car and were arrested a few days later.

Police said the crime was not random, saying Swenson was the victim's boyfriend and was acquainted with Feran.
