Man Sentenced In Minneapolis Robbery-Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man who was charged in a robbery that led to a homicide in Minneapolis last January was sentenced Tuesday.

Travis Koehn, 25, was sentenced to 270 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse and will be on probation for five years. The judge stayed a prison sentence, which was five months.

Koehn pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated robbery in court in October.

Koehn and two other people -- Curtis Harrell and Orlando Nunn -- went to a home near Irving and Plymouth Avenues on Jan. 20 to get money they thought was owed to one of them.

After the three went into the home where the intended robbery victim and his friend were hanging out, a fight began, the charges stated.

Nunn pulled a gun out and pointed it at the victim and ordered both men to get down on the ground and get their money out.

Police said at some point Nunn got too close to the victim with the gun and the victim grabbed the gun, struggled for a bit, then shot and killed Nunn.

Koehn and Harrell then both fled from the home, and were arrested later.
