Ferris St., Minnesota Skate To 2-2 Tie

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Jay Barriball's goal at 7:38 of the third period lifted Minnesota into a 2-2 tie with Ferris State at the Dodge Holiday Classic men's hockey tournament on Saturday.

Barriball deflected a shot from the point past Ferris State goalie Pat Nagle for his 11th goal of the season and 50th of his career. Nagle made four of his 32 saves in overtime for the Bulldogs (9-8-4).

Matthew Kirzinger scored on the power play for 1-0 Bulldogs lead. Jake Hansen, who assisted on Barriball's goal, tied it for the Gophers (9-8-3) but Ferris State took a 2-1 lead into the third period on Brett Wysopal's goal.

Nagle made a key save with 1:21 left in the overtime, stopping Jacob Cepis from point blank range.

Kent Patterson made 27 saves for the Gophers, one in overtime.
