EDEN PRAIRIE (WCCO) — Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams has been named to the NFC Pro Bowl team, the team announced Friday.
Williams will be replacing injured Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Williams has been recognized as a Pro Bowler six times in his eight-year career. This will be his 5th straight year.
Williams started all 16 games for the Vikings during the 2010 season and finished with 49 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, seven passes defended, one sack and one forced fumble. According to the team, he has totaled 49.5 sacks in his career, the most among defensive tackles in the NFL since he was drafted in 2003.
He joins running back Adrian Peterson as the second Vikings in the Pro Bowl in Hawaii on Jan. 30.
