MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State, Mankato scored three goals in the first period and went on to beat American International 5-2 Saturday for a sweep of their men’s college hockey series.

The Mavericks (10-8-4), who won 1-0 on Friday, got goals from Justin Jokinen, Kurt Davis and John McInnis in the first period Saturday. Jokinen added two assists to his point total.

Blake Peake and Jeff Ceccacci scored for American International (4-11-0).

MSUM outshot the Yellow Jackets 43-25.

Ben Meisner had 38 saves for the Yellow Jackets and Austin Lee had 23 saves for the Mavericks.
