HASTINGS (WCCO) — A South St. Paul man has been accused of stealing his mother’s wedding ring, as well as other valuables belonging to his parents.
Twenty-nine-year-old Edward Elmer Savard has been charged with three felony counts of theft, check forgery and credit card fraud.
Police said Savard stole both the ring as well as a camera from his parents’ home and pawned them. Their investigation also led to the conclusion that Savard had also taken his father’s checkbook and his parents’ credit cards and used both to make purchases in excess of $250 each.
Savard was arrested and admitted to police that he had stolen the ring and camera, and had used their credit cards and checks without their permission.
Savard faces up to five years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 on each count. He is currently in custody.
Seriously! THIS is news to know?
This may not be “breaking news” but I give these parents lots of credit for making their son pay the consequences for his actions. If more parents did so we would have way less crime. I have watched so many cover for their kids or buy their way out of a mistake only to see those kids never grow up to become Responsible for their actions.
$3.00 a gal gas….rescession….two wars…..failed policies…..failed international economies…..and this is what you have?
not to be a prude kevin but i believe gas is $3.20
I give the parents little credit. He obviously wasn’t raised well. Those raised in a loving home typically don’t behave in this fashion.
Tee Bee thats not entirely true, but brother lost his way and got into drugs pretty heavy and he was raised in the same loving family as me. Granted he is back to living a drug free life now…….
Great! What a nice article
Thanks
