Weather Blog: Cool Weekend

By Ron Trenda, WCCO-TV

Our average high in the Twin Cities is 21 degrees this time of year. This weekend, we'll top out in the teens. Saturday night and Sunday we'll have the chance of occasional flurries or light snow showers, but the next significant snow should hold off until Monday.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will feature periods of snow, with several inches possible by the time it tapers off. Morning rush hour will probably be slow, and evening rush hour might also be affected on Monday. Single digit highs are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday as an arctic high pressure system moves in.

Wouldn't a January thaw feel great right about now?
