Packers Linebacker Matthews Secures Hair Care Deal

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Clay Matthews’ long, golden locks have earned him an endorsement deal. The Green Bay Packers linebacker has signed a contract to promote Unilever’s Suave brand.

WLUK-TV says the deal includes media appearances before and after the Super Bowl and a possible commercial. Contract terms weren’t disclosed.

Matthews joins Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu in promoting their NFL locks. Polamalu has already appeared in commercials for Head & Shoulders. Polamalu’s hair is reportedly insured by Head & Shoulders for $1 million.

i’m surprised more nfl players don’t get their hair literally ripped out when playing. it’s considered part of the uniform and not the helmet so i would think it would be fair game…

  • insignificant

i thought i saw a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct in a game where a tackler got a handful o hair pulling someone down, which wouldn’t be fair…i dunno what the rules are concerning it…atleast Mathews isn’t endorsing panti-hose like Joe Namath!…yikes

  • insignificant

i mean it wouldn’t be fair to the tackler

I was dreading this with Matthews. Ugh…football is not about hair.

It used to be completely legal to pull someone down by the hair. But then it got changed because it became a racial thing with the football players with the dreads. So that changed.

Anyways, I think it should be COMPLETELY legal to yank someone down by their hair.

    Just my opinion.

Hey Sallies…being a Packer fan has nothing to do with being from Wisconsin. Also, the Vikings can’t do anything right while the Packers do everything right. I got two words for you. SUPER BOWL!
