INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana tentatively plans to play its Wednesday night game against Minnesota now that the Gophers have landed in Indianapolis.
The Gophers arrived shortly after 1:30 p.m. and boarded a bus to make the 50-mile trip to Bloomington.
There were doubts about whether the game would be played after a major winter storm coated roads from Indianapolis to Bloomington with ice. Tuesday’s forecast calls for more ice in central and southern Indiana with snow showers expected Wednesday.
The athletic department also says the school is obligated to play the game if the Gophers and the officials make it to Bloomington on time. The only exception would be if Monroe County, where the university is located, declared a snow emergency.
