Zumbrota Officer On Leave After Fatal Shooting

ZUMBROTA, Minn. (AP) — Authorities in Goodhue County are investigating after a police officer shot and killed a man in Zumbrota after being called to a domestic dispute.

Sheriff Scott McNurlin says the officer was called to the scene about 8:30 Monday night to keep the peace between an estranged couple. The woman was moving out at the time.

McNurlin says the man pulled a gun and shot the woman, and the officer then shot the man.

He was dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester. The Post-Bulletin reports she is in fair condition..

Authorities planned to release more information on the case later Wednesday.

She’s really free now. Get that woman some counseling and let her go on her way. ( yes it sounds callous but i’ve been in an abusive relationship and I realize that freedom comes in different ways,)

I agree. She probably feels extremely guilty right now but she should not. This was in no way her fault and she needs to understand that so she can now move on with her life.
