On CNN they have been showing images of snowy Dallas, the empty freeways, the paralyzed airport, the canceled Super Bowl pre-parties. Now there is word that seven people have been hurt by falling ice in Cowboys Stadium.

More than once CNN reporters and anchors have said today, “It looks like Minneapolis.” Well no it doesn’t. (Although the falling ice will no doubt continue to bring up Metrodome comparisons.)

Minneapolis hosted the Super Bowl back in 1992. It was a celebration of football and winter. The events leading up to the game got overwhelmingly positive reviews. As for the scene in Dallas the reviews aren’t good. Peter King of Sports Illustrated tweeted that “this is officially a debacle.”

Yes we feel for the folks in Dallas. Weather happens. Minneapolis can just handle it better.

dallas is not known for its ice and snow, only the winds that often blow in that area and OCCASIONAL SNOWY WEATHER..this storm was a strange act of mother nature that affected a lot of people who were not prepared..minneapolis and st.paul are in the frigid snowy north where they get the snow and sub zero temperatures every year and have snow plows and snow equpment to handle it..give dallas/ft worth a break!!

What do Minneapolis & Dallas have in common?
Both have a slightly smaller twin sister city.
