Dayton Names Chief Labor Mediator, Fills Cabinet

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton has appointed a veteran mediator to lead the Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services.

With the appointment Tuesday of Josh Tilsen and two other commissioners, Dayton has made all the necessary appointments to fill the two dozen executive posts that make up his Cabinet.

Tilsen is currently a full-time hearing officer and mediator at the Bureau of Mediation Services. He has helped negotiate numerous collective bargaining agreements between labor and management at counties and school districts as well as municipal, state executive and judicial branches.

The Bureau is charged with promoting healthy labor-management relations and works to resolve contract and grievance disputes.
