St. Cloud St. Routs No. 3 Minn. Duluth 8-2
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- St. Cloud State scored three times in 3:30 between the first and second periods and beat Minnesota Duluth 8-2 Friday. The loss knocks the Bulldogs from a share of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association lead.
The Huskies (12-14-3, 8-11-2) trailed 2-1 with less than four minutes to play in the first period. But they exploded for four goals to go up 5-2 just 2:27 into the second. Ben Hanowski scored the last two of three goals in 3:30. He also had an assist.
Nick Jensen had a goal and two assists and Garrett Roe assisted on three goals.
The Huskies scored the last seven goals of the game.
The loss dropped the third-ranked Bulldogs (18-6-4, 13-5-3) out of a first-place tie with Denver.
Denver won 2-1 winner over Minnesota on Friday.
