COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Tyler Johnson scored the game-winning goal in the third period as Colorado College beat Minnesota State-Mankato 2-1 on Saturday to earn a split of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Johnson broke a 1-1 tie with a goal at 10:40 of the third period.
Channing Boe scored on the power play at 17:01 of the first period to give Minnesota State-Mankato (13-13-6, 7-13-4) a 1-0 lead. That stood until the 14:08 mark of the second period when Tim Hall tied it for the Tigers (16-15-1, 10-12-0).
Josh Thorimbert had 32 saves for the Tigers, and Austin Lee stopped 28 shots for the Mavericks.
Minnesota State-Mankato had 33-30 shots-on-goal advantage.
Minnesota State-Mankato won Friday’s game 5-1.
