Hockey Draw: Minnesota, Wisconsin Tie 3-3

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Jefferson Dahl scored his first collegiate goal in the third period to help Wisconsin earn a 3-3 tie with Minnesota in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Saturday.

One night after having their nine-game home winning streak stopped in a 5-2 loss to the Golden Gophers (13-12-5, 10-10-4), the Badgers (19-11-4, 11-10-3) got a lift from the freshman forward but not the WCHA's leading power-play unit.

Both teams killed off power plays in the final six minutes. Wisconsin was 0-for-15 and just 2-for-15 in the two-game series.

Wisconsin also got goals from Justin Schultz and Patrick Johnson. But Minnesota goalie Kent Patterson made 32 saves, including 15 in the final period.

Dahl's goal followed by less than three minutes one by Jacob Cepis that gave the Gophers the lead. Cepis had a goal and an assist and Cade Fairchild had two assists.

"To come in here and get three of four (points), what more can you ask for," Cepis said.

Nate Condon and Jake Hansen also scored for Minnesota, which is 0-1-5 in overtime games this season.

Wisconsin's Brett Bennett had 28 saves. Her did not make a save in overtime.

The Badgers are 1-2-5 in overtime games this season.
