Twins Cuddyer Bothered By Wart On Foot

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Minnesota Twins outfielder Michael Cuddyer could miss the next few days because of a painful wart on his foot.

Cuddyer tried to treat the wart himself with medication this winter, but it ended up getting infected.

Manager Ron Gardenhire says he told Cuddyer to take Friday’s workout off and see how it felt on Saturday. It is possible that Cuddyer could need a doctor to remove the wart, which would keep him out for a few days.

Gardenhire says Cuddyer told him he should be OK by Saturday.

The Twins open their exhibition schedule with a home game against Boston on Sunday. Gardenhire says it’s too early to tell if Cuddyer will be available to play in that game.

What is it about reporting every possible medical ailment about these ballplayers? Are modern day reporters required to study medical terminology now when reporting the sports? This trend of covering the twins and the main topic is a wart or a blister is ridiculous. When will you report on what they get paid to do play baseball! The players of the past must be laughing hysterically at the modern day players along with the reporters from years gone by.

It is because for some reason “fans” seem to want to know everything. Medical issues however minor would be more interesting to the “fans” than understanding why some phenom doesn’t do as well. Statistical analysis is lost on “fans”. Write what is easy.

Doesn’t Cuddyer make enough money and has health care benefits that he could have gone to a medical professional for wart removal? I have to admit, I did have a plantar wart this winter also, I use the duct tape method and it worked!
