No Charges Filed In Hecker’s Jail Marriage

View Comments

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Hennepin County prosecutors finished their review of Denny Hecker’s over-the-phone marriage to Christi Rowan-Hecker and have decided not to file charges, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

The couple, who are now both in jail, were married over the phone nine days ago, just before Rowan was taken into custody.

In a phone interview Tuesday, Hecker defended the wedding as legitimate. He said his wedding, while unusual, is very real and that Rowan is a wonderful mother.

The case is being forwarded to the Maple Grove Police Department for their review.
