Weather Blog: Bring On The Rain

By Chris Shaffer, WCCO-TV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Yes, our temps will finally be warm enough for rain showers, not snow.

We have about 7 inches of snow on the ground around the Twin Cities. That number will dwindle away to a few inches by this weekend.

The first of tje warmer air is coming our way. We will be back above average in the low-40s for our Tuesday, with some thermometers cracking 50 on Wednesday.

We also have a few chances of rain which really hammers away at our snow. Tuesday will feature some light sprinkles in the afternoon hours. There is a better chance of rain on Thursday (bummer … St. Patrick's Day).

Expect to see more and more of your yard with the mild air sticking around through the weekend.

This is great news for those with spring fever, but it will also change our flooding concerns from speculation to reality. Expect the warnings to start coming out later this week.
