LAKE ELMO (WCCO) — A pedestrian was struck and killed attempting to cross a Lake Elmo highway Thursday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The Patrol says the pedestrian was walking north trying to cross westbound Highway 36 — near Keats Avenue — and was struck by a westbound car when he or she stepped onto the highway.
The driver of the car, a 22-year-old New Richmond, Wis. woman, was not injured in the incident.
The pedestrian’s identity has not been released, but the Patrol is expected to release more information Friday.
