Police: Alcohol May Be Involved In Kenyon Crash

KENYON, Minn. (AP) -- A former Kenyon-Wanamingo High School wrestling star is dead and a fellow wrestler critically injured after a one-vehicle crash in southeastern Minnesota.

The Post-Bulletin of Rochester reports 19-year-old Jacob Baalson died at the scene of the early Saturday crash near Kenyon.

A fellow wrestler, 17-year-old Chad Lexvold, suffered head and neck injuries in the crash. Lexvold was in critical condition Monday.

Goodhue County sheriff's authorities say two other teenagers also were taken to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

The sheriff's report doesn't say who was driving. Authorities say an initial investigation indicates alcohol and speed may have been contributing factors in the crash.

Baalson and Lexvold wrestled on the 2010 Kenyon-Wanamingo team.
