Police Search For Suspected Scam Artist

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (WCCO) — Police in Golden Valley are searching for a suspected scam artist who didn’t show up for his court date.

Mark Christopher Bell has a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested on March 1, after police posted a crime alert asking for help to track him down. Bell was booked and released after given a pending court date.

Police say he was caught going door-to-door and trying to get money by saying his car broke down. During one scam, a homeowner even drove him to a cash machine to take money out so they could help him.

Bell is said to have a long history of robbery, burglary, theft, assault and forgery charges.

Golden Valley Police encourage anyone who may have seen Bell to call 911.

Taking advantage of good people. You can imagine he wouldn’t walk across the street to give someone a drink of water.
