Attempted Murder Convict Sentenced In Drug Case

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- A Minnesota mother serving 12 years in prison for trying to kill her two daughters will not have to serve more time for illegally distributing thousands of prescription weight loss pills while working at a North Dakota military base.

The Grand Forks Herald reports that 33-year-old Breezetta Etienne pleaded guilty in the drug case and was given a sentence of 21 months that she will serve at the same time as her sentence for attempted murder.

The former East Grand Forks, Minn., woman pleaded guilty to attempted murder in June 2009. Authorities say she tried to kill her 3- and 4-year-old daughters and herself with vehicle exhaust.

Etienne is the sister of Moe Gibbs, who was convicted in 2007 of killing Valley City State University student Mindy Morgenstern.
