WASHINGTON (AP) — Sun Country Airlines is making its inaugural flight from Washington’s Reagan National Airport to Lansing, Mich., and Minneapolis after winning a coveted gate at the airport closest to the nation’s capital.
The small St. Paul, Minn.-based carrier begins service Friday, promising low fares on six round-trip flights a week. Daily service will begin May 1.
Sun Country also is adding service to Boston and London in May. The airline flies primarily to vacation destinations in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Sun Country’s holding company, MN Airlines LLC, emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February.
