MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The bicyclist who was injured in a Minneapolis hit-and-run incident has been identified by police.
Police say Bruce Daniel Merrill, 58, of Minneapolis was struck while riding his bike near the intersection of 14th Avenue North and Lyndale Avenue North. It happened at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Merrill was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and he is currently in critical condition.
The vehicle that struck the bicyclist left the scene without providing assistance or information to the Merrill.
Investigators are working to interview witnesses, though they say no one actually saw the crash happen. No one could give a description of the driver or provide police with a license plate.
Police also haven’t released any information about what sort of vehicle the suspect may have been driving.
They are asking anyone who may have information regarding this case to call the Minneapolis Police Department’s traffic unit at 612-673-2981.
