Police: Car Found In River, Driver Inside

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police rescued a Hermantown man who got his car half submerged in the Uskabwanka River Monday in St. Louis County.

Grand Lake Fire Department First Responders found Robert Glenn Erickson, 79, clinging to the open driver's door of his partially submerged car. Erickson had lost control of his car on part of Lost Lake Road that had been washed out by the river, police said.

First responders entered the river and carried Erickson and his dog, which was also inside the car, to safety. Erickson and his dog did not suffer any injuries.
