MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A rally was held outside the studios of a popular morning radio show in the Twin Cities Friday morning.

A Rally Against Racism was held outside KDWB over a parody song that ran on the “Dave Ryan in the Morning Show” on March 22.

The song was called “30 Hmongs in a House,” and was set to Eric Clapton’s “Tears in Heaven.” The lyrics talked about Hmong women getting pregnant by 16 and being over the hill by 30.

KDWB has issued an apology through Facebook for the song, but the station also added that it received some positive feedback from members of the Hmong community.

The radio station also issued a statement on Friday, saying “We fully support the rights under the First Amendment of individuals to gather together and to express their thoughts and opinions.

“The March 22 song segment in no way reflects the values and viewpoints of our station,” the statement read. “We recognize that it was inappropriate, and we have unequivocally apologized.”

Does anybody who posts here know how to spell above a 2nd grade level?
Honestly. Bruce? Rachel? I hope you two don’t hook-up and have a child. The poor kid wouldn’t stand a chance.

    1. Bruce says:

V – oh ..teach me..you great teacher. How me your English teaching license.

  3. Syto says:

The station isn’t going to change nor will they do anything about their actions. All you will get is an apology. They have plenty of listeners and they can care less if they lose a few listeners in their stubborn battles.

    1. COLORS says:

i agree… but maybe this time it’ll make them think twice of it.

      1. bill says:

Yes, They will not change but you can change. Everyone who is against racism should change by not listening to KDWB anymore. We all should not just sit here and argue about this but make sure that we do something and that is to Not support KDWB anymore.

    2. Bruce Yang says:

Syto – I agree with you that they may or may not change, but I’m sure you’ll also agree with me..that we still have a right to protest..on what we believe is ‘wrong’.

  4. Tyren says:

Minnesota Nice on full display here.

    1. Phil Mcrackin says:

Minnesota nice is a lie. People from Minnesota are just afraid to say what iis really on their minds., they sugar coat it Take New Yorkers, if you want to hear the truth talk to a New Yorker. On posts like this, this is what Minnesotans really think.

    2. Richard Head says:

What used to be known as “Minnesota Nice” has been transformed into “Minnesota Naive”. We are being taken advantage of on new levels! And on a daily basis. Sad, but being nice has it’s price to pay.

  5. Former Listener says:

    Former Listener 2,

Everybody who? you and people like you are the reason why “Peace” is just a fart. Come on!! What makes you any better than anyone else; until you’d walked in someone else’s shoes, STOP THE DEGRADING/MISINFORMATION!!!!

    1. Joey says:

Take a joke. We all have our faults and stereotypes. Quit crying and laugh. I don’t listen to that show but props for not being so stale.

  6. mai says:

I do not support getting pregnant early, but Hmong people are not the only people who gets pregnant at age 16. Having a large family is not such a bad thing is it?

good for you G. Glad to know you’re making good money.

      2. Bruce Yang says:

Hey Viet Guy – ..I hope you’re not assuming that all large Hmong families are on welfare, and that other goups of people do not have large families and that if they do, that non of those are on welfare?

        1. Hmong girl 2 says:

You mean to tell me… ole mom and pop with came here from Laos with 12 kids could REALLLLLY support all of those kids. So you are telling me they got a well paying job with no education, right off the bat to support the family of 12 and growing…Yeah.. right…..You know as well as I do that they are on Welfare, Social Security(that they didn’t earn), disability.. way to work the system..

    2. Artist says:

It is when you milk the system and don’t raise em’ all to be responsible adults! Everyone knows how much time and attention it takes to raise just one child, let alone a whole bunch of em’. Another thing, ya ever heard of “Freedom of speech”? If yer gonna live here, learn to speak our language! Or go back to where you came from.

      1. Educated says:

Go back to where the came from? You clearly have no grasp on history. They had to flee their homeland because they were facing genocide after helping the United States in the Vietnam war. They CAN’T go back to where they came from. There are more Hmong in the US now than anywhere else in the world.

      2. Bruce says:

For someone name ‘Artist’, I would think you’re not as close minded as you are.
For once, just about all of us can speak english, and can communicate with the likes of you. Can you say the same in reverse.

2 – Living in the US, do not mean we have to be and act like ‘YOU’. Got that!!!

3 – Lead the way, you go back to where you’re family or your ancestor came. Lead by example, I’m sure others will follow.

    1. Former Listener says:

      1. ponger says:

their shoes would be tooooo small!!!!

        1. zilx says:

obviously should not expect anything from racist biggots like you.

          1. jerry says:

You mean bigot. If we are going to call people bigots, lets spell it correctly. LLP has it right.

    2. meng says:

This is exactly why this rally must be held because mandy people already glued to the idea thinking Hmong are like what they heard from KDWB. We, Hmong will not let other people making fun of our parents because we started life late in this country. Even though American may have forgotten the HMONG sacrifies but we “Second Generation” will not let our Hmong people die in vain. Our parents and grandparents may not speak your tongue but we can. I’m a proud Hmong-American and I’m stand for HMONG and what is right.

      1. ger says:

How come hmongs never buy american made cars then if they love this country so much?Support the country that brought them here!!!

        1. Kou Xiong says:

How is buying a low quality, over priced car make the Hmong “Americans”? I don’t think you understand how money travels so keep your comment to yourself. Hmong, like most sane people, buy high quality affordable items. Hence, competition and capitalism.

        2. THE TRUTH says:

          GOSH, YOU ARE DUMB

        3. Bruce says:

Ger – how do you know we didn’t buy any? Please don’t make false statement.

      2. richard says:

Meng, these people are racist /bigots. They are ignorant and will not understand rational, objective thinking. They are too ignorant to be ashmed of themselves. Thank you to all the Hmong people who were Americas allies during the Veitnam war. They saved thousands of American lives.

        1. Pa Vang Otterness says:

Thank you Richard for reconizing the sacrifice that the Hmongs have made. My Father said he fought the War cuz he believed in peace for everone.

    3. Hmong girl 2 says:

      Nicely put

  11. Phil Mcrackin says:

What about free speech? KDWB has theirs and the Hmong folks have theirs. What is the big deal. There is some truth in the lyrics by the way. I often offend and I will live to offend again.

  12. JamieinMN says:

    OMG ridiculous…….get over it.

        2. Anonymous says:

Haha, get educated. You don’t even know how to spell “Hmong” correctly. After, reading all these comments, wouldn’t it be easy to spell “Hmong.” Your come-back made me laugh, literally 🙂 Ohh, remember.. Get educated, thought I should tell you twice, just in case.

        3. Mai says:

You think you are all high and mighty you stupid American can’t even spell the word Hmong! Tsk. Idiot.

    2. MARK says:

The station and the protesters are both exercising free speech. I don’t really see what the problem is.

    3. THE TRUTH says:

  14. sporty007 says:

        YOU NEED TO DIE.

    3. D C Lee says:

You are wrong. These protesters took time off of work to exercise their right to protest. Unlike you- they actually have a spine to get up and take a stand for what they believe in.\
I should know because I was THERE.

  18. Tom says:

good for KDWB keep up the good work

  19. jim olsen says:

Racism should be a thing of past!!! not present!!!! but its not white folks fault they are so sensitive and dont have nothing better to do then sit at flippin kdweeb!!!

    1. Kou Xiong says:

  20. marcy says:

  25. Ed says:

Rachel, you hit that one right on the head.

  26. ACWT baby! says:

I guess I should rally then too….I mean, I live in Coon Rapids. They rip on CR being white trash all of the time. Who the ef cares! If that is all I had to worry about in life, then my life would be a cake walk.

    1. MARK says:

You care so little that you took time to post a comment about it.

  27. Jean says:

This don’t surprise me at all. It’s one of the many reasons why Iw on’t listen to their station any more. Dave and his crew seem to think they can say and do anything they want and hide behind the first amendment.

I’m not that old and grew up on the station but they gone down hill for some time now with their actions and what garbage is spewing out of their mouths that I won’t give them my ears for their ratings.

If enough people stop listening and voice their opinions, maybe…then maybe the station will make them do things differently. If Dave don’t like it, ha can jump on his personal plane that he takes to Colorado all the time and move back there!

    1. JamieinMN says:

HIDE behind the First amendment????? Ha!

  28. B says:

Crisco did not write the song. Feel free to get your facts straight before typing such a black and white statement (no that was not a racist comment…black and white are opposite colors). The was not meant to hurt anyone’s feelings and there are many Hmong’s that thought it was hilarious. Also, the station apologized via facebook and over the air twice. Have you ever done something you regretted and apologized for it? Were you forgiven? Did you and the person you wronged move on? I’m guessing yes….

    1. Pha says:

Have you ever been offended in your life? I’m guessing yes. Have you ever apologized to someone when you didn’t mean it? I’m guessing yes.

  29. Al says:

Newsflash…this is the United States of America. There’s a thing called the First Amendment in our Constitution. It give us free speach. If you don’t like what was said, here’s a suggestion…..listen to another radio station. Learn our language, learn our laws, learn how to drive, or leave….simple as that. We as Americans are sick of people coming to OUR country and telling us how to run it.!!!!!!!!

    1. Dee says:

YOUR country? Oh yes…you must mean you white people. Didn’t know this was YOUR country…You’d better check your blood lines cause if you’re not 100% Native American…This is NOT YOUR country.

      1. JamieinMN says:

It’s MY country too. I was born here…….just my 2 cents.

        1. Dee says:

Yeah – so was I – but there seems to be a BIG difference between how people are treated because of their race – whether they were born here or not.

      2. StarR says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you from a MN history teacher! People forget the history of this country, and I’m not talking the history of when Europeans came over via boat!

      3. Phil Mcrackin says:

Dee you are pretty stupid people win and people lose, you lose, or should I say you ruse.

      4. Mindy says:

Dee, why do you think it was written by a “white” person. As I recall not all white people are racists. All races have a form of racism. Have you heard black people talk about whites and latinos? Every one has a right to their opinion.

    2. THE TRUTH says:

    3. Pa Vang Otterness says:

Most people no matter what color or race (even white people) can’t speak english correctly and even white people can’t follow their own laws and or drive, so white people can leave too!
“We as Americans are sick of people coming to OUR country and telling us how to run it.!!!!!!!!”
Your COUNTRY? Try again, Native American were here first! the white, including Obama, government is running this currupt country to the ground.

  30. Ed says:

Now you can add No Sense of Humor to the list.
I’d like to know who it is that listens to the station and was offended, they must not be listening to the words of the songs they play on that station.
Is that really just one family protesting?

    1. ACWT baby! says:

We need to add baby momma’s to that list…seriously, keep your legs closed ladies!

      1. THE TRUTH says:

  31. B says:

Big Deal!!!! They make fun of EVERYBODY on their show…..They DO NOT target anyone specific……You don’t see all the rednecks crying and protesting over all the redneck songs they make…..I am so sick of all the crying and whining….Any chance for people to play the poor me card

    1. Jen says:

There is a lot of resentment from people that make it to America looking for the “whatever” dream. You don’t like it? Don’t like the humor? Don’t like the food? Don’t like the cars? Don’t like the education system? Don’t like the medical care? Don’t like the politics? Just a few words for you: either love it or leave it. Stop having babies that I have to support. Just don’t take advantage of the system and then bash it with a stupid rally. Leave your complexes behind.

      1. Kenneth says:

Humor? Jen your skank and you can leave this good country behind. Did you get my humor?….oh, oops sorry. I am really bad with my humor. Don’t get offended.

  32. MnPROUD! says:

they make fun of everybody! seriously! the make fun of cities celebrities and different groups they dont just say hey we make fun of one group. its freedom of speech they have a right to sing the song and others have the right to say against it but it was all done in fun. im mean they made a song about fridley and you know what they were pretty right on lol. and i was from fridley. people need to remember what a sense of humor was alot of people in the hmong community thought it was funny too lol. no harm was done and it opend up new doors for the hmong comunnity

  33. tim says:

this is horrible. They flat out went after the Hmong community. It would be different if this was more broadby saying white/hispanic/asian but nope they didnt hold back and went straight at the hmongd. Dave ryan is too old to be on kdwb. They need to can him!

    1. JamieinMN says:

They also went after white people, the Fridley community, Coon Rapids, etc. Remember dat!

    2. Phil Mcrackin says:

So let me ax you dis (proud to speak ebonics) where is the harm done?

  34. SANTANA says:

Really people?! It’s called a JOKE…..and I can’t even count how many times they’ve cracked on people of their own race. Did you hear the song about white trash? lol

  35. Al says:

Hey Dee….wise up. When I said “our country” I’m talking about people that live here, follow American laws, Speak the English language. Work for a living…ooops I’m sorry, no I did NOT say that the Hmong don’t work. But I’m real sick and tired of people moving to the United States, and forcing us to conform to them. The United States is losing the idenity which people like those who lived through WWII made this country great.
I AM a veteran who put my own life on the line by choice because I felt the freedoms we enjoy here are worth fighting for. My father did the same before me and my son is now proudly serving. Oh, and one other thing Dee, I happen to be 3/4 Sioux. It IS my country.

    1. ACWT baby! says:

      Well put Al. Well put.

    2. JamieinMN says:

oooh snaps! Al told you Ms. DEE!

    3. StarR says:

I thank you for you and your family’s service, truly. I do want to make the point however, that our country does NOT have an offical language. Until that happens, and who knows if it will, our country will need to be patient and accepting of others native language. If we were going off the basis of “native” language, it wouldn’t be English, it may be from the Sioux or another tribe. I’m not trying to be offensive, I just feel people think the Europeans were the first ones here and get to claim everything.

      1. pants says:

star English is the language here, its like me moving to spain and try to speak to them in english when they are not. They would be irritated at that fact. If you are going to come live here learn to speak the language

        1. David says:

globbidby bloadlsagahg glooakaehi ya. Thats minnesotan for who cares….mr spelling police.

          1. Katie says:

David, there was no spelling help proferred. What are you talking about? BTW, English is the accepted major language of the USA. You don’t need a Ph.D. to figure THAT one out!

            1. David says:

Duh, Previous comments from posters were removed.

    4. pants says:

HAHA YEAH BABY! AL you rock couldnt said it better myself!

    5. Dee says:

Hey Al – so it may be your country, I’ll give you that; and thank you for being a veteran – I currently have brothers and nephews who are currently serving overseas – putting their life on the line, by choice, for “freedom”. My father served in the Vietnam War as an ally of the United States in hopes of a better life for his children. I was born here. I live here, I work, I speak English, I obey the laws. The United States is what I know, I am an American citizen – but I’m also Hmong, just like you are 3/4 Sioux. You take pride in being Sioux, I take pride in being Hmong. However, obviously, since we are participating in this formum – there is a disconnect. You are fighting or have fought for freedom as you are a veteran. Freedom for the United States, so that it is what is it today. My father fought for freedom, my brothers and nephews are fighting for freedom – and sometimes, like today, I feel like I am fighting for my freedom too. I do not see that people are coming here trying to force anyone to conform to them – I see people who are looking for peace, to able to be who they are. Isn’t that what the United States is all about? To be able to be who you are? Instead of just “labeling” me or anyone for that matter, why not get to know me for who I am, get to know them for who they are. Everyone is different and that’s the way it should be.

My apologies for my use of “white people” ( I have family that are white) – Just a little bitter today – that’s all.

      1. Good for Dee says:

Dee! It looks like you are very educated and can spell, which alot of people on this commentary can’t! Good for you!

        1. THE TRUTH says:

    6. Hannah says:

Al, I agree with you! You are right!! This is YOUR country!

  36. Carrie says:

Someone should rally against that awful stuff KDWB calls music! Have these people ever listened to those lyrics?! Gross.

    1. JamieinMN says:

Um KDWB doesn’t call it music….the “artists” do. The community is who wants to hear it, dumb dumb.

      1. MARK says:

KDWB doesn’t call the music they play music? What the heck are you talking about? Are you just bashing your fist into the keyboard and then hitting “submit?”

  37. Marty says:

Funny that a TV station with co-owned radio stations would host a story attacking a morning show MUCH more popular than any of theirs. Way to go CBS.

  38. sad says:

Come on people get a sense of humor, what all these special interst groups need to keep in mind, is the more protesting becomes the norm the less impact it has. Think if all the people who were born and raised here for generations and have to pay for the welfare and food stamps for these special interest groups get tired and decide to protest too…by not funding their hurt feellings anymore and they would actually have to work and not have time to protest.

  39. Richard Head says:

I think the article is a bit skewed. Should have read “pregnant at 13, not 16”.

    1. John says:

Homosexuality is caused by white folks.

      1. OneHungLo says:

ROFL and we were taught that it was from the blacks from the congo that brought it here….

  40. Hannah says:

Sense of humor always helps! I am a fourth generation Norwegian…now there are all kinds of Norwegian jokes out there that I laugh at! My great grandparents came over from Norway in the 1800’s and bought a farm in Fairfax, MN. They never had their hands out from the government but worked very hard to make a living! I laugh at Norwegian jokes all the time!

    1. ACWT baby! says:

Ditto. Ole and Lena are my grandparents!

      1. Hannah says:

Oh! Well, okay….they sure make a very funny Norwegian couple don’t they? I wonder if they enjoy their own humor? There are plenty of Swedish stories out there that the Swedes laugh at too.

  41. Dave says:

    Stand upwind from this group.

    1. ACWT baby! says:

      You didn’t…….lol

  42. david says:

You white folks need to go back to your old country. Ain’t that racism? Wait that is free speech folks.

  43. Richard Head says:

What used to be known as “Minnesota Nice” has been transformed into “Minnesota Naive”. We are taken advantage of on a daily basis for our kindness and generosity and sadly get no thanks in return. Bummer bro!

  44. Bobby says:

I’m assuming they all took the day off of work to be at the rally?

  45. John says:

KDWB blows goat chunks anyway. Mainstream music is terrible these days.

  46. Richard Head says:

Where can we find the demographics of “employed” vs. “unemployed” for each nationality in Minnesota? It would be interesting to see how many Hmong, Somali, Hispanics etc are active in the work force, and how many are consuming our tax dollars. Anyone want to share that info?

    1. Juanita says:

      YOur ‘white’ tax dollars?

    2. ACWT baby! says:

I will add that most Hispanics that I have known work harder than many white people I know. I love my Hispanics!

      1. jim olsen says:

till they get comfortable then they slack, once they get our system down they blow!!!

        1. Juanita says:

Funny how only other races will begin slacking…but white folks won’t. Go to the welfare office. Half the folks applying for welfare are white.

          1. Not true says:

Not true!! Go to the welfare office in St.Cloud!! Most are hispanics, somalis and blacks.

            1. Very True Jack says:

I just pasted these from a government site:

With regard to AFDC the figures are:

              White 38.8%
              Black 39.8
              Hispanic 15.7
              Asian 2.4
              other 3.3

To break down these numbers, we look at how many Whites are in the population as a WHOLE. If Blacks make up less 14% of the population and are almost 40% of all receipients, then they represent about 2.5 times their actual population. Since Whites are over 50% of the total US pop., they represent less than their overall piece of the pie, population-wise. Hispanics are at least 15% of the general population, so they take only about as much as what their population represents. Why am I writing this? Because I am tired of the misrepresentations on this issue. I read so many on here claiming that more Whites are on welfare than Blacks (true, in terms of raw numbers), yet not accounting for the fact that there are over 4X as many Whites in this country than Blacks! In statistics, you cannot go by mere numbers. Only if the playing field is exactly equal, which is rarely is! This thread was started, not to be racist, but to keep it real. After all, there are some legitimate reasons for Blacks to be on welfare more than Whites. But the worst thing anyone can do is be in denial.

              1. Juanita says:

All in all. White folks are #1 welfare recepiant. That is where my hard earned tax money is going.

                1. Katie says:

Juanita, you need to learn how to do percentages! LOL Apparently you can’t understand what Very True Jack wrote. Whites are NOT the #1 welfare recipients! Look at the stats, if you know how to read them.

                2. Allah don't like you says:

Based on the 2006 TOTAL population of each respective race in the United States, it is:
37.8% white* (37.8% of the white population is on welfare)

27.78% black* (27.78% of the black population is on welfare)

11.47% Hispanic* ** (11.47% of the Hispanic population is on welfare)

Another way to look at this data is based on the total number of people who receive welfare. It is:

                  39% white 11,661,000 of 29,900,000 recipients

                  38% black 11,362,000 of 29,900,000

                  17% Hispanic 5,083,000 of 29,900,000

                  Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_race_percentage_for_welfare_recipients#ixzz1JcUHqSHt

                3. Katie says:

Allah, you have ALL the populations the same! They are NOT! Your figures aren’t true. Learn statistics!

                4. WelfareRoaches says:

Well if the percentages of whites are that high, at least most of them have worked some point of their lives to get welfare unlike the minorities that flock here like geese to get it for nothing….

  47. gerryrigger says:

How come hmongs never buy american made cars then if they love this country so much?Support the country that brought them here!!!

    1. Juanita. says:

There are no cars made in america anymore. The toyotas and hondas are more made in this country than your Ford or chevy.

      1. gerryrigger says:

But the toyota and honda profits go back to japan and the Ford and chevy profits stay in this country!! GET IT ???? KEEP OUR MONEY HERE!!!

        1. Juanita says:

You mean it stays in the CEO or company boards pockets. Whats the point? They employ the same work forces and pay the same wages….Do you know anything about economics?

          1. jim says:

Thank you Juanita. Gerryrigger, your a idiot.

          2. Katie says:

Apparently you need a class in economics, too! The profits stay in the U.S.; the profits are NOT going overseas, like our jobs did! Where is your patriotism? Or is that in your country of origin?

            1. Juanita says:

Patriotism? 3 of my uncles died for this country. My brother is in Afghanistan fighting terrorism. Yet you question my partriotism? So you would rather pay Ford and Chevy to keep sending more money to their Mexico plants…then go ahead. But i won’t. At least foreign car makers are employing more USA workers….thats all that matters to me.

              1. Katie says:

Juanita, you spout off your opinion as if it’s fact. Put out some credible links if you want me or anyone else to believe your “facts”.

Anyone on the Net can claim their uncles died for this country and their brother is now serving. Your saying so doesn’t necessarily make it true. BTW, what is “partriotism”?

Given your propensity for spewing opnion and personal history as “facts”, I’m guessing you should probably just go back to your Mom’s basement to play your video games, young lady.

                1. juanita says:

Yeah, its so obvious that everything your spewing is so factual too katie. SHOW ME where the money is going. You must not work a day in your life if you don’t notice jobs leaving the USA.

    2. Wienie Wack says:

Because there is no such thing as a true made american car anymore. Maybe some body parts are put together here, but most of the electronics are from overseas.

  48. LLP says:

Should they change their call letters to KKK

  49. l says:

dont these people have jobs that they need to be at? or ? i am not a bigot, or anything like that, but geeze, get over it, firing? thats a bit harsh, just learn from the experience and be a bit more sensative at what toasts good humor. please be kind.

    1. Debra says:

Many of the elder Hmong work hard all summer in the field to produce some of the most beautiful vegetables. They work 7 days a week. I can’t say that about many people. Its seasonal . Just like construction. But wait….A construction worker can sit on his behind all winter and collect unemployment. They have the foresight to save. Everybody and every race has faults. Open your eyes. America is the way it is because of accepting all at one time. To be open. Just because we are white does NOT mean superiority. WE brought africans for horibble suffering. WE were helped and MANY soldiers were saved because of Hmongs. Think before you spew such hate.

  50. Chai Vang says:

Too bad this wasn’t in the school yard or club, there would be chai vang all over again.

    1. shamoo says:

are you a bad ass or what are you trying to say

      1. Chai Vang says:

shamoo my record speak for it self. you want some? karma tonight bring it.

        1. shamoo says:

I hope you can get a ride since you cannot see over the steering wheel! We don’t call em four footers for nothin

  51. Sick says:

Either back down or get out of the country. JHC, where do we get gates big enough for the borders. Get em all out. What a waste!1

    1. Get well soon says:

You need to be deported. Can’t you living in this good country.

  52. Tim Ford says:

Get over it. They have a right to freedom of speech, and If you don’t like what they’re saying DONT LISTEN. Besides, their are worst things being said than a parody song.

    1. debra says:

And everybody has the right to protest

  53. HMONG GIRL says:

Hannah, you must not take part in economic/monetary activities often, because if you did, you would notice that a lot of Hmong people work at banks, schools, non-profits, hospitals, clinics, Burger Kings, McDonalds, and even garden for the farmers’ market! You should open your eyes and quit being so stubborn. Many of the people who protested HAVE jobs…. People who protest are informed and concerned citizens… Who r u? You are someone who should be working and not sitting on a computer and perpetuating ignorance.

    1. Hannah says:

Hmong girl! I have had jobs and worked 12-18 hour days to support my family when my husband was out looking for a job! I am now retired and am entitled to sitting down on a computer anytime I feel like it…..like you Hmongs rally!!!

      1. HMONG GIRL says:

Well Hannah, if that’s the case and you really are that old, you should already know about what the Hmongs have been through. You should have seen their transition from being a newcomer to a functional member of society. There are many Hmongs who did what you did or are currently doing what you did by working 12-18 hour days to support their families as well. But why are they being entitled to this hateful stereotype that doesn’t even represent the majority of them? This stereotype is demeaning and if someone said that you were “lazy,” you would be offended as well. You make it seem as though there are no decent Hmong people out there. WE ALL have people within our own race, culture, ethnicity, etc. that make stupid decisions and I know you know that for a fact. That is why when KDWB made that song about the Hmong, it was wrong. It gave many people a wrong and negative impression of how the Hmong are. Instead of putting out the fire, KDWB insisted that other people agreed with them. This is not a sincere apology and that is why the issue is still at hand. I don’t want to hate you, I just want you to understand what we are fighting for. I want you to be open-minded and considerate of our feelings too.

        1. GetSome says:

Last i checked she was fighting for the american dream. Last i checked most Hmong are in the US do to the fact that our government has helped them escape or they are illegal’s. People need to quit crying about shupid stuff that doesnt mean left from right. KDWB is entitled to say whatever they want just like you or I can right now.

          1. GetYourFacstRight says:

I guess you must of checked wrong cause Hmong didn’t come to the united state because your government helped us. Hmong came to the United State cause they owed Hmong BIG time for helping out the United State in the war.So now get your facts straight who ever you are

            1. Hmong girl 2 says:

Sorry, I’m a Hmong and I find this PATHETIC. Nobody owes anyone ANYTHING.. People are too caught up with the he said she said when there are far more important things to worry about than hurting someone’s feelings..I agree with Getsome.. KDWB is entitled to whatever they want to say.. Free Speech BABY

          2. Bruce says:

GetSome – Last I checked, and you need to recheck, it was your Government that came to ask us to help you. So many of us died for your government. Also, your government didn’t rescue us. There were no air planes or boats waiting to take us. We all had to make our way here, so we have every right to cry about. Go back and learn your history better before you past judgement.

ONE MORE THING — FOR YOUR INFORMATION, we, or 99% of us, came to this country legally. I’m sure there are many many other people who came to this country illegally, including ‘WHITE’ skin people too.

PLEASE go back and study your history again, especially your government’s involvement in LAOS from the 1960’s to 1975. Perhaps after you’re done, you will gain new appreciation for what we’ve done.

      2. Bruce Yang says:

Hannah – we work too, but we can still protest. Please don’t tell me, you’re not seeing anything wrong with this so called ‘Joke’.

    2. Bruce Yang says:

Hmong Girl – way to say put it. You’re totally right.

  54. Mindy says:

Since you are a former listener maybe you didn’t know that is was NOT Crisco but Steve-O!! It was a just song. People need to stop being baby’s. They have ever right to be funny and make jokes!! That is why we live in America.

      1. Xiong says:

Exactly, we live in AMERICA. The last time I checked, the Constitution says we have the right to protest. You might want to go check your civic books from middle school.

        1. Anonymous says:

I agree with Xiong. Wouldn’t you want to stand up for your people when things like this happens? Or would you let people look at you with disgust?

          1. artist says:

            Sometimes the truth just hurts!

            1. Doug says:

What truth? That white folks hide behind the 1st amendment to spew racism and hate. Granted their maybe racist hmong folks too…but you don’t see anyone of them parodying a song about white people in the US. Has KDWB parodied a song over black people in Minnesota?

              1. GetSome says:

Your another stupid person that doesnt listen to the radio, KDWB has made songs about everyone. They have made stuff on blacks, whites, even citys like CR. So they dont just go after everyone else but whites.

        2. Wienie Wack says:

Yes you have the right to protest and they have a right to say what they want on the air as well. It’s america! If you don’t like our laws… Move on back to the patty!

          1. Anonymous says:

Stereotypical. You need to get educated or be a little more informed of the Hmong in Minnesota, Wienie. Nice name, it suits you.

          2. A fellow MN that is Hmong says:

            What’s the “patty” LOL

        3. Katie says:

Certainly you have the right to protest. But if you really want to protest, then boycott the radio station’s sponsors. THAT will get their attention. You see, in the USA, it’s all about the $$$. You should have learned that by now. Protesting just makes you appear to be negative and militant trouble makers. Nobody likes those types of people. Most whites don’t like white protesters! But you have the right. Just don’t misuse it, or it can come back to bite you in the butt.

  55. M B says:

Ironically, the song isn’t entirely fake. When lived in an apartment, the complex manager had made a comment that the rules are racist. And not in the way you think.

There’s actually a MN law (Or was. Don’t know if it’s still in effect) that specifies how many people can live in a certain number of square feet. The law is biased towards Asians because it specifies that there can be TWICE AS MANY Asians living in that same number of square feet as other racial groups can.

    That’s just messed up.

    1. David says:

Where do these idiots come from. There is no ordinance. Its a fire code, duh! Call your local fire chief. Just because your land lord was a nut case doesn’t mean he speaks the truth.

  56. Joyce says:

Hooray for KDWB. I didn’t catch the persons name that supposedly said what was reported that was said but he/she deserves a raise in pay, not disipanary action for saying out loud what every everybody is saying under their breath. These people (mongs) come over her, don’t pay any taxes, get all of our benefits & then complain & protest when they think they aren’t being treated with consideration or respect. Well LA-TEE-DA. If they don’t like the way they are being accepted or treated then get the HE—out of here & go back to the country you cam from.

    1. MexicoMinnesota says:

Get your facts straight whitey. Do you really want to live on 500 bucks a month from welfare? Shoot yourself next time you get down on your luck with employment and go to the welfare office.

      1. Katie says:

There are senior citizens living on less than THAT! I’ve worked with some who only receive $190 in social security. The Hmong who receive $500 a month also get food stamps, medical assistance, and rental assistance. If you get all THAT, your $500 can go alot further. Why should an elderly Hmong woman get $500/month when an elderly white woman only gets $190 in Social Security? She was a farmer’s wife, age 87, worked on the farm with her brother and never married. What’s fair about that situation?

        1. Mex says:

Aged 87 gets 187 bucks a month. Probably has a big savings unless she blew it all at the casino. Plus i am pretty sure she gets welfare and assistance to go along with 187 bucks. You ignorant folks need shut your pipe holes.

    2. tammy says:

i wish native people had said that centuries ago…

  57. tammy says:

I have always thought Minnesota nice was how about how fake (white)MN people behave. Example: smile and “accepting” to bi-racial couples, but criticize and badmouth behind their backs.
Most people don’t realize that people of color haven’t always had their voices heard. Mainstream media has never aired their issues because people of color had no political/financial power. Now they do because various “brave”, outspoken individuals have pushed for their rights.

  58. dphilips says:

What a bunch of short sighted, ignorant people!

  59. K.Vang says:

I suppose we all should be americanized and accept offensive rascist slurs and remarks about us, because after all we’re no better then animals! Have some human feelings! until suck remark is directly pointed at you, don’t even say ” its just a joke, get over it”

Just because a couple outcast hmong kids think its ok, doesn’t speak for the whole hmong community!

  60. TJ Walters says:

Your stupidity is showing, Bruce (a Euro-American, no doubt). Dominant culture is never at risk; we’re always off the hook. Whether it’s a song, a sports logo, a joke . . . these things serve to sustain the status quo and keep subordinate groups in their place.

    1. BT Bruzek says:

It doesnt need to be elevated to this level of importance TJ. It’s a bad song parody that in the grand scheme of things will neither hurt or help. We all waste too much time giving nonsense like this visibility, when the real problems around racism and the dominant culture go unchallenged. So he made fun of her, she made fun of him…..not relevant. How about we address the economic realities surrounding equal pay and hiring discrimination amongst the immigrant population? Minority Women in particular. This song parody is a non-issue that has gotten more pres than it deserves.

  61. Sarah Bright says:

All you white trash folks…..if you think this is your country…go back to school….you seem to not know real facts….and all you hmong trash folks…go home…….if you can’t get along….go find your own countries then……

  62. Blah12345 says:

I’m a white man. I think I should tell Hmong people how they should react to a stereotypical and degrading song about their ethnicity. Laugh about it. It’s funny because I laughed at it. I also think that making the same stereotypical and degrading comments on a blog makes me a man. Look at how funny I am. I’m repeating the same ignorant, stereotypical and degrading words of the song. I’m as funny as Steve-O. I’m patting myself on the back right now. White privilege and arrogance at its best.

    1. David says:

Hah, white people are funny that way.

  63. U R An IDIOT! says:

As we can all see Hannah is just as ignorant as the song was! They are rallying to stand up for something they believe was an injustice. I bet if it was the other way around and someone was making fun of “white” people there would be a rally as well and “white” people would be outside rallying too. Who gives anyone the right to laugh on someone else’s misfortunes? Who do you and everyone else think they are? God? Last time I check you weren’t. So I asked you this? Why are you NOT working! LMAO!

    1. Reality says:

White peope are made fun of all the time. Wake up and look at how you’re being racist twords whites. Look at your generalizations of white people. You’re all racest. All groups are made fun of, grow up and grow some thicker skin.

      1. Bruce Yang says:

Realilty – you’re the one who needs to WAKE UP, GROW UP, and you’re the one who needs grow thicker skin.

  64. tvang says:

let me correct that! no we do not live like that! if you were truly hmong you would of known that from the start! let me tell you who lives like that.. “america!” lives like that! “HELLOOO!” get your facts straight!

  65. Alice says:

    Dear Rachel,
Not all of us live like that. And that is really ignorant for you to say. Examples like your comment here, shows that you are informed and know nothing about the Hmong people and is basing it off stereotypes. Please do your research on people before writing such rude and incomplete statements. And lastly, we are not ashamed of who we are; those that are in these situations, regardless if they are Hmong or not are in that situation because of not only because poverty but because some of them we not born with the silver spoon and is still struggling to improve their situation. That is a bigger issue. “Before you talk, listen. Before you react think. Before you criticize wait.”

  66. Deb says:

Hannah…Why arent YOU working? Or are you waisting company time spewing hate on the company computer?Did it ever occur to you that it may be their day off? Or took a vacation day? Obviously not.

    1. annoyed says:

duh! hannah said she is retired.

  67. Peaceful rallies won't hurt anyone. says:

I wish humans were as colorblind as dogs, so the color of our skin isn’t what makes us hate. It’s sad how we’re starting to call this country OUR country. It’s no one’s to own. We’re all from the same root. It’s sad how the Hmong community wants to fight for equality and there are people who are telling them to stop and take a joke. Let people PEACEFULLY fight for what they believe in, or are passionate about. Aren’t we all humans? Don’t we all share the same number of genes, bones, shape? There are many countries out there that can’t fight for their beliefs or for equality, so stop the finger pointing, bad mouthing, and be good human beings.

  68. MARK says:

Hannah, does your job not allow you time off? You should look for a better job instead of complaining about what others do with their time.

    1. annoyed says:

do I have to repeat what I just said to Deb…….

  69. Phenol says:

LOL. Hmong people are hard core. What exactly is the Hmong population here in Minnesota? Now I want to listen to this song, if it is still available on the internet.

    1. xcedrin says:

      youtube.com. Learn to love it.

  70. pants says:

hahahah omg first i like to agree with Bruce and Sporty007(i think was the name). i’m not racist but it was all in fun get over it. Other countries and ethnic people make fun of americans all the time. For all you hating on this better not watch comedies otherwise your bunch of hypocrites. and yeah First Amendment!!!!!!! who cares if they are holding up signs and if they have a job or not

  71. fitswell says:

you little people better go home and grow up ar you will get sit on .

  72. Cindy says:

Dont want a song about 30 Hmongs in a house then don’t pile 30 of them in there. Is what it is .

    1. David says:

The funny thing is. Its a freakin sterotype. There is no 30 hmong people living in a freakin house.

That is just like if i said white folks like to live in mobile homes and smoke meth.

  73. Ben Dover says:

    Who gives a rats ass

  74. Allah Loves Tasty Virgins says:

Good God…Do any of you even know any hmong? My hmong friends thought it was not only funny….BUT TRUE!!!! Get over it and move on….just be glad that your culture is so accepted that a big time radio show will make fun of you…YOU KNOW LIKE BEING PART OF THE GROUP???? Morons…Nothing was said about Bowling alley beating or Hmong gang beatings….take a freakin joke!

    1. Allah don't like you says:

Its not true. I bet you have no friends.

    2. Anonymous says:

Accepted through a useless parody song? Everyone should’ve already been part of the group, in the first place. Get educated or meet new Hmong friends, because not all Hmong are in gangs.

  75. KDWB Fan says:

Get over it people! KDWB makes fun of all races including white!

    1. THE TRUTH says:

I don’t hear them making fun of blacks or middle class whites!

  76. this is ridiculous says:

a hmong person asked kdwb to write a song like that about the stereotypical hmong, kdwb isnt in the wrong
this was blown WAY out of proportion

  77. Todd B. says:

Stop whining! Your foreigners need to get the hell out of our country if you don’t like it! The song is true, as many of your kind have confirmed on Facebook and other media outlets. Most of your kind are on welfare and were most likely pregnant as teens too. Stop milking our tax dollars and resources and make yourselves worth something in life. You’re all mad at the truth and I’m sick of it. Rallying on a Friday morning? How about you go get a job like the rest of us hardworking AMERICANS!

    1. Deen says:

Crystal is making you trip out Todd. No you are not american. Your a white nazi.

    2. David says:

Awwww….poor white guy is sad he has to work while we took our vacations today. Hey is ‘American’ to take a vacation from work to protest?

  78. Scott says:

I respect the Hmong community for their restraint and respect. KDWB is cowardly…try targeted the Muslim community (Mohammed or the Koran…and guess what would happen).

    1. WelfareRoaches says:

Yea Scott. Then we would end up with a bunch of towel heads on camels protesting. Sheesh. All these minorities need to grow a pair or go back where they came from!

    2. Doug says:

Hey, Jenna. So i hope your white cause….I heard that white chicks are easy to get laid. But hey don’t get offended….its just a stereotype.

  80. Chai Vang says:

dave and steve don’t pick on the blacks calling blacks the “n” word because they don’t want a foot up their white arses.

    1. Katie says:

Equating a parody to a racial slur is like comparing apples to elephants! I suggest you take a more indepth English course to learn the difference.

  81. Michelle H. says:

Hmong people are brave and courageous for holding Clear Channel and KDWB accountable.

  82. hmong vaj says:

it was a parody song…..title was submitted by a hmong listener……get over it…..this ain’t worth protesting over…….most of people protesting never even heard of kdwb…..

    1. Truth Vang says:

You so sick’n me. Brother i don’t care what kdwb is. Its what kdwb did that hurts hmong in general. Its ok for you to be the white mans biotch…but not me.

    2. HmongRstupid says:

Hmong Vaj – I wish I was as stupid as you so I can crawl between the whiteman’s legs every night.

  83. Michelle H. says:

Bruce you have an IQ of a donkey. Good luck boy.

  84. white mike says:

KDWB took it a little over the top, especially when alot of Hmongs represent their fan base as well in the Twin Cities. However, when all is said and done all you will get is an apology. But then maybe in the future their company will think twice before downgrading or making fun of any culture.

Whether you believe it or not, racism is alive. You will be treated differently because you are different. Thats just life as it is. People are not created equally, thats the plain truth.

Taking a stand against something you believe is wrong, is the first step in the right direction. Whether anyone will be held accountable, of course they will only claim ignorance.

  85. White Eric says:

People at my work call black people the N word all the time, even in front of the brass bosses. But you dare utter the word when a black person walks in, then your behind is toasted.

The only time when people change is when their pocket books hurt. Companies will also only change when their is a law suit. Sad to say, but its the truth folks.

  86. Richard Head says:

I like the Hmong sausage at Como Meats at the HTM in St. Paul. It tastes good and gives me nasty farts!

  87. Victim Du Jour says:

Big deal if a small handful of Chubby white Baby Boomers Protested the station, no one cares about their 60’s culture war.

    1. Pha says:

You are obviously wrong because I care.

      1. Anonymous says:

How would you know if no one cares about it or not. The Hmong community is not just a small handful of people, they’re the reason why Minnesota has such diverse ethnic groups. Before you say things about the Hmong community, you should first get educated about them. Imagine if the radio station was run by Hmong people and you were the only white person in MN; and what if they said something rascist about White people. How would that make you feel? Even if you had all the pride in the world, you’d still feel as if what they did was wrong, right? Get educated.

      2. A fellow MN that is Hmong says:

We obviously have too much time to worry about this incident. The “Mob” have been served. WHAT’S NEXT?

  88. Ron Bloomgren says:

Pushing buttons: KDWB apology holds no weight… Is OK to light a match and start a house on fire, than say sorry afterwards. Apparently KDWB thinks so. Once a again Talk Jocks think they are better than everyone else. My guess is that he was rejected by a beautiful Hmong woman and he is lashing out. This is typical of someone that has limited intelligence…

  89. Chris Oinonen Ehren says:

Soldiers are dying for our freedoms and you want to waste those freedoms using them to insult our Hmong brothers and sisters. If you had any idea what we owe the Hmong in blood and loyalty you would hang your head. Read a history book, ignorant slackers.

  90. Present everywhere says:

Sorry to inform everyone but racism is still prevalent in the U.S. we just need to focus on our families and not worry so much about what other ppl say or do…

  91. :) says:

Our nation is a melting pot made up of people of many races, religion, political views, lifestyle, etc. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn’t mean their opinion is right or wrong, it’s strictly an opinion. With this being said, being selective is a natural part of our species (yes, regardless of race or religion, and yes, we all bleed red the same). I guess what I’m trying to get to is that when someone perceives something out of their “norm”, it creates opinions.

If listeners are offended by KDWB’s entertainment tactic, then turn the channel and listen to a different station, no one is forcing anyone to listen to KDWB only. KDWB is for entertainment purposes (more for adult, open minded people), thus be prepared for jokes that poke fun at everyone – come on, KDWB makes fun of themselves the most. Why is it such a big deal on this parody, KDWB apologized, what else do you want them to do?

No race or religion is better than the other. Only a two year old would think that their world is the best and all other is wrong, but that is because at that stage of life, it is natural to perceive this view. But we are all adults here, correct?

    PS…I love everyone…XOXO

    1. boink says:

Your a liar. I got no love from you.

      1. :) says:

You mean “You’re”…but I love you too.

        1. boink says:

Fap fap fap fap…wait your a chick right?

  92. Mnmommy says:

OK, Seriously? If you listen to KDWB often you’d know that they pretty much make fun of every one. Every race, body type, education level, and especially those living in Coon Rapids. You don’t see those people all rallying to get them fired. If you don’t like it, find a different station to listen to.

    1. Pew says:

But it’s too difficult to turn that knob!

      1. artist says:

I’m sure it is for those who can’t read numbers

    2. Jesus says:

Then we need to turn kdwb to a christian radiostation.

  93. Anonymous says:

That’s the thing, we’re not “other countries.” The Hmong rally because they believe that everyone should be welcomed, respected, and have the choice to co-exist together with White people in Minnesota. You might think it’s just a “song,” but the Hmong have deep roots, and the way they see it, is that it’s a way of not looking eye-to-eye but looking down on them. Get educated.

  94. OneHungLo says:

We all know they pile people in like sardines. 30 to a 2br home seems about right. I have a neighbor with 7 cars in a 2 br home. Of course if I wanted to raise a stink about all the parking they take up I could and they would have to remove some of the cars I know. But at least they are quiet, and respectful. Id rather keep the asians around then the blacks anyday!

  95. VerySad says:

After reading all these comments, I’m deeply sadden. It seems so convient to hide behind a screen and lash out at each other without regard at all. We as humans really don’t deserve to exist at all. If we look at all the evil and hatred we do to each other. How can anyone believe that good will triumphant when a seed of evil can spread in a blink of the eye. This is truly sad.

  96. Yang Clan says:

The Hmong will rise, you will fall.

    1. Paul Vang says:

Shut the f up. BTW there are some Hmong people who are stupid

  97. VaajTswv says:

Lets all live in peace. Stop all this nonsense. Don’t waste time arguing. All this will end up with pain and hated. We all are brother and sister.

  98. Curious says:

May I ask someone why you have a lot of people living in one house? That’s just a question and not meant to be racial. I just am curious.

    1. Santa says:

Dude, everyone has their beliefs and ways in life….. example, I have a white friend that was telling me how his parent-in-law lost their jobs and wanted to move in temporarily. His reply was hell no!!!. as for Hmong’s we were brought up since ancestors, to love and respect parents. We believe that they raised us to become the man we are, now in return i will support you til….. just how we were brought up and taught. So my point is everyone’s values and expectations are because of our background. many of us are trying our best to adapt to society, but there are somethings that we can’t let go. White folks have a saying ” sticks and stone may brake my bones but….blah…” Hmong are opposite. mental pain hurts more than ever verses physical pain. again just some little difference.

    2. Paul Vang says:

Its the way that we was brought up. I have seen Hmong, African-Americans, and Caucasian lived under one roof. In a small house too. Nothing wrong with it.

  99. Tom says:

What, does the truth hurt the hmongers, it isn’t racism, that card is over played, it is 1st ammendment rights that the station has. if the truth is hurtful then i am not sorry, if they don’t like it they can move back to the jungles from where they cam.

    1. THE TRUTH says:

  100. Marty says:

I have seen the video on mutiple TV station sites.

What, were there 50 people there? Why is this “NEWS”? Here’s why – because they think they can hurt a very popular radio show.

    Can we move on, please?

  101. cff says:

Mr so called bruce…im sure if they target u uwould feel disrespected too. If it was a black song…im sure u wont be saying that so that means ur just insensitive as to how ur parents raise u up…preety sad for u

  102. Larry says:

This message is not to anyone in particular..
I just want to say that I was born in the usA but have lived in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
My observation is that underneath all our coverings we are the same, we want education for nour children, prosperity for our families, and a better life and society.
I think proper education on social issues given by professionals with training is proper.
Hurtful messages whether is song or response to these articles shows a lack of understanding and empathy.
If we can respect each other and not be offensive or hurtful, we’ll all be the better for it.
BTW, I’m a caucasian white male.

    1. Paul Vang says:

At least there one person who understand the value of life.

    Bibliography? http://www.anarchytv.com/speech/cases.html

    Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire (1942)
    1. That part of c. 378, § 2, of the Public Law of New Hampshire which forbids under penalty that any person shall address “any offensive, derisive or annoying word to any other person who is lawfully in any street or other public place,” or “call him by any offensive or derisive name,” was construed by the Supreme Court of the State, in this case and before this case arose, as limited to the use in a public place of words directly tending to cause a breach of the peace by provoking the person addressed to acts of violence. Held: (1) That, so construed, it is sufficiently definite and specific to comply with requirements of due process of law. P. 573 . (2) That, as applied to a person who, on a public street, addressed another as a “damned Fascist” and a “damned racketeer,” it does not substantially or unreasonably impinge upon freedom of speech. P. 574 . (3) The refusal of the state court to admit evidence offered by the defendant tending to prove provocation and evidence bearing on the truth or falsity of the utterances charged is open to no constitutional objection. P. 574 . 2. The Court notices judicially that the appellations “damned racketeer” and “damned Fascist” are epithets likely to provoke the average person to retaliation, and thereby cause a breach of the peace. P. 574 91 N.H. 310, 18 A.2d 754, affirmed.

  104. Fa-Ker-U says:

oh…the sake of freedom to speak…what a right to have?! So I am a Hmong person but you don’t hear me go in public to make fun of a particular group of people such as white folks, like Steve. I hope that he reads this message and know that it is wrong to suppress, oppress, and discriminate which constitutes to a hate crime. The claim that Hmong texted in to the station claiming they like the song but how sure are you about the person texting you about such claims. If you believe that then you must believe everyone online is beautiful…right?! Congrats on trying to cover your tracks!!! You and the UCLA girl belong on the same pedestal with your ignorant, bigotry, and racist way…soon you will be out of job like that other radio personnel from kqrs…last thing…congrats on losing one of your biggest sponsors your boss must be very proud of you steveOh….so…recession will sit in soon.

  105. artist says:

Ok, new question…. How effective is it to protest if nobody’s payin attention? Sure we can read some of the signs if we choose, But how many folks do ya think are gonna understand a word of that lingo they chirp?

  106. Go Get the trader Hmong says:

Lets move on. The truth is a “HMONG person” submitted the song to KDWB. They in return thought it was funny and used it in a parody song. So why is everyone getting all worked up? Yeah, it was not right ethically, but it was a joke.

A Hmong submitted the song, KDWB should expose whichever Hmong person submitted the song. and let the crowd go after him/her…. CASE SOLVED!!!

  107. Hmong God says:

Go back to where I came from? White folks don’t understand most of us are born in the US now. So i guess i should go back to Saint Paul then, because thats where i was born and raised. LOL. White folks are so funny.

  108. Timothy says:

When the hell is wcco going to close this comment section? These comments do not represent Majority of Minnesotan opinions at all. Being white, we know nothing about experiencing racism. There is nothing wrong with protesting.

  109. Santa says:

Just like Rush Limbaugh say Donovan McNabb was a bad quarterback but because he is black…… anyways, the black folks was outrage, which forced him to resign. to you its stupid, but in there eyes it was racism. but Hmong’s population is too small that they can’t fight back. You guys didn’t dare to comment on Rush’s opinion, cuz the blacks would……..

  110. COLORS says:

wow i am amazed at all these comments here. To Hannah, its funny how you point fingers and don’t look it at this way. If it was you or whatever race you are that was being talked about i’m sure you’ll be out there too supporting your self.(BUT LOOKS LIKE IF IT WAS YOU WON’T BE) you only like to point and talk but i’m sure when it come to you. You sure don’t have any support to your people.. With the hmong people out together supporting what they believes it show that WE GOT EACH OTHER BACKS… don’t you get it??? Yea i’m a well educated HMONG WOMAN here and imma talk slang to you i aint writing no papers or in a speech class here. Imma talk from who i am. Have you ever thought that the land that you are living in right now is land of IMMIGRATION. ??? so before you start pointing your crusting fingers at other race you better look at yo self first… We hmong people come together to support each other not laughing at each other… SO GET IT THROUGH YO HEAD!!! YOU LIVE IN A IMMIGRATION LAND. LAST BUT NOT LEAST HANNAH YOU JUST A HATER!!! YOU JUST SHOW YOUR TRUE COLOR.

    1. Gussie says:

Colors! Hannah did not say anyting about “hate”! You did! Well educated?? I think you should learn to do a sentence correctly!

  111. Dave from the East Side says:

Hey, jerkoffs, I just spent half an hour composing a message (with everything spelled properly), registered my name and Email address, hit “Submit Comment”, and was told I didn’t submit an acceptable Email address (I did) and found my message had disappeared. Please fix your miserable system.

    1. Ann Hiro says:

      lrn2computer, grandpa. ctrl+c ====> ctrl+v

  112. A fellow MN that is Hmong says:

As in I Heart Huckabee “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself” “How do I not know I’m myself”

  113. death says:

December 12, 2012 just can’t get here quick enough

  114. Kao Vang says:

I am a Hmong immigrant residing in the US for over 30 years now. I have been stereotyped and demean by KDWB. I will change my station to KTIS 98.5 and forgive them the way my GOD has shown me. I will lift this situation up to him and may he restore peace to all your hearts.

    1. Ed says:

Oh PLEASE keep searching for a new station, You’ll suck the fun out of that station too!

  115. Dr. John says:

First- Hatred, abusive languages are not considered free speech under 1st amendment, For example if you go to a movie theater and you yell’ Fire” you will be arrested.
Second- many radio/Tv personality have made fun of other population they will get fired, I am not sure most of you old enough to remember Jimmy the Greek from CBS or Tony from CNN. So as for KDWB mnanagement, they should fire these two idiots right away. As youmay know if many people boycot the sponsors for this station they will be out of business… so for the economic reason standpoint they should do it.
In the entertainment business there are so many creative ideas to lure the listerners, these idiots are too lazy to do homework and rely on sliizzy dummy joke that is unacceptable.
As far as educating the public about the people of color we all have to learn from each other. acusing each other does get us anywhere. Look at te republicans and democrats they have to work together to get thing done… If they are bickering we get goverment shut down…because at the end of the day we need foods on the table and clothes to wear.
Now some of you may get sick you and up in the hospital, the doctor who treat you could be white, black, asian, indian, hmong….. or someday you may end up in the nursing homes who are going to take care you? could be Somalian, Vietnamese, Philipino, Mexicans…
Just take a deep breadth and do little thinking before you say something that hurt people…

  116. The Black DUDE says:

Can we all get along!!!!!!!!! LOL>>>>

  117. Robert Knight says:

Note to editor: nice job with the photo! close shots always make “crowd” either appear bigger than it is or disguise the fact that three people showed up for the “rally”. Keeps the agenda alive.

  118. ERNIE says:

  119. Hack Station says:

Stopped listening to that hack station when they became an arm of FOX nonews….

  120. Paul Vang says:

You people are idiots…When we, Hmong people critized ourself, there is no big problem but when another ethic does it, its rally or war. These new generations of Americans don’t know about the lost war that was never mention in their history because they ran away. At the same time, we are living in United States where some American can actually upon hold their promise. 2012 is around the corner where people assume that that world will be destroy anyway so why dont everyone just friendly for once. Even though I’m Hmong, I’m also human like everyone else who only think that they are right and everyone is wrong.

  121. Pa Vang Otterness says:

Everone in America came from somewhere else, so for those who said “Go back to where you came from” They can get back on the Mayflower and get out too! Your ancestors came here to be free from pursecution and have the freedom that they wanted! We on ther othere hand had to come here because of the War , that AMERICA had that WE HELPED IN!!!
Every culture and race has their own stereotypes, just because some people live up to it does not mean that they are all like that! So does that mean that when I see a middle aged white male, that he is a serial Killer? That is the main profile isn’t it?
We all need to just get along, even if we don’t like each other, who knows maybe you could have a Hmong, somalian,Black, Hispanic, and or white Daughter or Son -in-law, or grandchildren someday! So chill out! Get to know each other before you past judgement!
And sometime certain things people need to just shrug off, people like to make things a bigger deal then they are, I mean KDWB make fun of everyone! Mostly white people who lives in trailer parks in Coon Rapids, and you don’t see them protesting! they could say that it’s demeaning to white people who don’t live in a trailer park, who do live in Coon Rapids!

  122. who cares? says:

This song could have been about any racial group… there are just as many Black, Hispanic/Latino, White, etc, families living with multiple people in one house and popping out babies at 16 (OR YOUNGER). If the song would have been about any other group, would it have gone this far? Probably not.

Another thing, KDWD has a HUGE Hmong following. I can think of many contests (specifically Booty Cruise) where only Hmong contestants were allowed to play. Do you see other racial groups getting up in arms about the inequality? No.

I can see how the Hmong population (and others) sees this as distasteful. I am not completely insensitive. But really, if you don’t like it, you have the choice to not listen.

For the record, I am a white woman, married to a Latino man. So yes, I experience racism and hate. I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked, “So, did he marry you for the Green Card?” You just have to learn to take it in stride. One person’s “opinion” should not define you or your culture.

  123. GET OVER IT says:

I’m a Hmong women, and all I have to say is GROW UP HMONG PEOPLE! Everyone talks trash, why are you guys so suprise that someone said it? The truth hurts, I’m not saying it was funny but it wasn’t offensive either. We talk trash about others too but not to their faces or whatever, this had gone to far. It’s nice to know that the Hmong can do something and stand up for ourselves but this is NOT that serious.

    1. Hmong girl 2 says:

I couldn’t have agreed with you more..There are more important things in life to worry about.

  124. best brands says:

    Great post. Thanks.
