Water Main Breaks On Highway 694
SHOREVIEW, Minn. (WCCO) -- Traffic was momentarily congested after a large water main pipe broke near Highway 694.
The pipe is about 12-16 inches in diameter and burst under a railway bridge around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Shoreview Public Works Director Mark Maloney.
A small amount of water washed onto the highway but has since evaporated. A portion of County Road E was also underwater for a short period of time.
The water has been turned off and the impact is minimal.
The public works department is investigating the cause of the break. Maloney said they are still unsure of the cost and the time needed to repair the pipe.
