MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Twin Cities ad agency, OLSON, was recently named one of the fastest growing companies in the United State by INC. Magazine. They attribute their commitment to new media as one of the main reasons for their remarkable growth.
The company — with a giant text message on the side of the building, a brick man statue on the roof and dodge balls in the lobby — is all about getting your attention.
It’s no surprise that the largest ad agency in the “State of Hockey” landed the company Bauer, an ice skate manufacturer as a client.
What’s interesting and unique about the company is how they’re changing the ad game for Bauer with the use of new media.
“You no longer just broadcast on networks. You broadcast on social networks. So, what we can do is they create a community that actually feeds itself,” said Dennis Ryan is OLSON’s new Chief Creative Officer. “We start this conversation — this community. And then … you get back and forth among young hockey fans and young hockey players.”
OLSON and Bauer are betting online conversations will help boost skate sales. Whether it’s on a billboard, broadcast or through social media, the Twin Cities’ company is getting a lot of attention and that’s just the way they like it.
As OLSON’s client list grows so does its profile. In fact, they’ll be moving their offices from across the street from Basilica of St. Mary to across the street from Target Field, into the newly remodeled Ford Building.
