Man Killed After Truck Rolls Identified

BALSAM LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) -- The man that was killed after his pickup truck went off the road and rolled in Polk County, Wis. has been identified.

Richard P. Paul, 49, of St. Paul was killed in the crash late Sunday evening along Highway 46 near County Road CC.

Officers were summoned to the scene by a caller who didn't think there was anyone in the wrecked vehicle. Responders, however, found Paul's body under debris in the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the driver went off the road on the right shoulder and then attempted to correct his vehicle, causing it to cross the road and roll once on the opposite side of the road.

He was not wearing a seat belt.
