2 Arrested After Police Chase In St. Paul

ST. PAUL (WCCO) — A man is in the hospital after he got caught up in a police chase on Thursday.

Police say it all started Thursday afternoon after an undercover drug buy outside a business at Maryland and Rice in St. Paul.

Police arrested two people right away but two others took off in a car.

They headed south on Rice Street at high speeds and crashed into a van. That van was pushed across a lane of traffic, over a sidewalk, and through a fence.

The driver, Thomas Richard Blanck, 65, of Prescott, Wis. was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK. He was released from the hospital late Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Police arrested the two men in the car after the crash. Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, St. Paul police released the names of two of the suspects. They were identified as 34-year-0ld Amon Manning and 25-year-old Timothy Smith. Both men were arrested on drug-related offenses but have not been formally charged.

St. Paul police were still looking for the driver of the car. The incident remains under investigation.

  • Tom's Antithesis

Where do these people (Like Tom, for instance), come from? Who raised these idiots? And if you had any sense, “Thomas Richard Blancky, 65 from Prescott, Wisconsin”, is not likely a black man, considering Prescott, Wisconsin is about 98 percent white….but Tom here wouldn’t know where to find that kind of information, or anything else to help him form an intelligent opinion of anything, because he was raised to be a moron and a bigot, with no consideration for others.

    • manny

      well said.

    • Tom's friend

read the article again, idiot. thomas was an innocent bystander.

Wow….another success story in the war on drugs

  • Marijuana Activist

Doesn’t sound like a success to me. I I haven’t seen success on the war on drugs since the early 80s. Sounds like a Innocent guy got hurt for no reason to me. Maybe Curly was the back seat ;)

Thank you for that information, because some people get so racist when any bad news is on. I just dont understand why when something bad happens its look at the black people? People who commit crimes are universal.

Tom was the innocent victim genius…

  • Glad Thomas is okay

I am glad Thomas is okay. I understand why police need to chase cars. Thomas could have been killed by men dealing or buying drugs. I don’t agree with police chasing cars through traffic for offenses such as drug dealing or buying. Let them go.

yeah that just doesn’t make any sense to me. how many people have to be hurt or killed in a police chase for the chase not to be worth it. seriously….over drugs!!!! child molester, murderer……fine but drugs!!!!!?
