Man Dies While Cutting Down Tree

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A man died after he was injured while cutting down a tree in Oak Grove, Minn.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said it happened Thursday morning in the 600 block of Swan Lake Lane Northwest.

Deputies said they were called to the home around 9:49 a.m. and found the man, David Pollema, unconscious.

Pollema, 35, was hired to remove a tree. He and a co-worker were removing a large section of the trunk when part of the tree kicked back and he was struck.

Pollema, from Bock, Minn., suffered multiple injuries.

He was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center, but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
