The Moody Blues Help Ask For Instrument Donations

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO)--The Moody Blues are playing a show at the Orpheum on June 9, and with the help of the Minneapolis Fire Department, they'll be contributing more to the city than a concert.

The legendary rock group is asking for band instrument donations for Minneapolis Public Schools. Starting Thursday, donations will be accepted at any Minneapolis fire station through the day of the show.

Assistant Chief of the Minneapolis Fire Department Cherie Penn said any basic type of instrument will do.

"Type of instruments we're looking for is flutes, trombones, trumpets, saxophones, clarinets, those type [of] things," she said.

If you have a large donation, such as a piano, the fire department can also arrange for a pick up.

There will also be a place to drop instruments at the Orpheum Theatre the night of the show.
