Man Pleads Guilty To Mail Fraud
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Prosecutors say a Minnesota man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in a Sioux Falls federal courtroom to mail fraud.
The U.S. Attorney's office said 44-year-old John E. Pitlick of Shoreview, Minn., portrayed himself as being able to broker loans between farmers. Prosecutors said members of one South Dakota farm family transferred $300,000 to Pitlick's business but the money was never loaned out and Pitlick kept it.
He's to be sentenced in August.
