Dayton Police: Man Killed His Wife In Home

DAYTON, Minn. (WCCO) – Dayton Police Chief Richard Pietrzak confirmed Friday afternoon that a man apparently killed his wife in their home early Friday morning.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as a domestic homicide. The man apparently killed his wife, then called police about it at 4:45 Friday morning. The man has been arrested and was identified as John Bogema. He is currently being booked in the Hennepin County Jail.

The incident took place in the 13000 block of Vinewood Lane in Dayton. The residence is located just south of downtown Dayton, and the home was surrounded immediately with police tape when authorities arrived. The Hennepin County Crime Lab is also on the scene.

Authorities said there has been no recent history of police calls to the residence, only medical calls for Bogema.
