1 Killed In Crash On 35W

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed Friday night after a crash near Interstate 35W and Diamond Lake Road in Minneapolis, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office received a report of a crash involving a 1998 Jaguar at about 10:24 p.m. Friday.

The State Patrol said the vehicle was traveling southbound on 35W in the right lane when it attempted to exit to Highway 62. The vehicle lost control and collided with a guard rail.

Authorities said the driver of the car, 69-year-old Glenn J. Stratton of Mendota Heights, died as a reult of the crash. A 68-year-old woman identified as Diane Ousterling-Stratton of Mendota Heights suffered minor injuries.

Authorities reported wet road conditions at the time, but the exact cause of the crash remains unknown. The State Patrol is investigating the accident along with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.
