Dayton: First Governor To Walk In Mpls Pride Parade

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gov. Mark Dayton made Minnesota history Sunday as he was the first Minnesota governor to walk in the Twin Cities Pride Parade.

Dayton drew cheers and applause along the parade route through downtown Minneapolis.

Rob Evel, who was at the parade, said that seeing the governor there was a great experience.

"I think it's about time," he said. "I'm very proud to see him march in our time."

The Twin Cities Pride Parade is considered one of the largest in the country. The one in which Dayton walked was the 29th annual parade.
